HAZWOPER is an acronym for the serious occupation of identifying and removing hazardous waste as an emergency response operator. The individuals entrusted with these duties are required to complete Hazwoper training in order to safely follow required protocol for response. There may be any where between 24 and 40 hours of instruction, 1 to 3 days of supervised training, and every level of operator must return for an 8 hour refresher annually.
