American Idol Gone Wild: Vote For Sanjaya Malakar

Most people can't remember who won last year's American Idol competition, but they are very familiar with Sanjaya Malakar.
Sanjaya has teeth that sparkle like diamonds, long hair that would make a drag queen proud, a smile that reduces prepubescent girls to tears, and just enough singing ability to keep him from getting beat up at a karaoke bar.
Against all odds, Malakar, 17, has been easily voted through by the public to the final 9 of the 6th season of American Idol.
This alarming development has some predicting the end of American Idol and other prophesying the end of the world.
The earth has survived earthquakes, world wars and famines, and it will continue to rotate around the sun if Malakar wins the Idol competition. But the most popular show on TV may not survive if Sanjaya is crowned champion.
And that is not necessarily a bad thing; Idol has run its course. Every year Paula grows loopier, Simon waxes nastier and Randy becomes skinnier and more insignificant.
Let's not forget it was the Idol judges who foisted Sanjaya on the American public. They deliberately chose Sanjaya as one of the finalists, hoping that his horrendous singing would provide some comic relief.
The joke is on American Idol, because now it's the turn of the public to vote and they have fallen in love with the quirky performer.
If you are sick of Simon's nastiness, Paula's weird behavior and Randy's desperate attempt to look cool -- vote for Sanjaya. If you've had it with American Idol's star-making machinery -- vote for Sanjaya. If you are tired of those insipid Ford commercials vote for Sanjaya.
