Music Director travels north for the spring, Ventura Music Festival, April 29-May 7
Mehta´s passion for music is illustrated throughout his career as a violinist with the San Diego Symphony, conductor for the International Russian Music Piano Competition and past music director of the Marquette and Nova Vista Symphonies. Recently named the "Voice of the San Diego Symphony," Mehta hosts a concert series introducing new patrons to the joys of classical music and gives on stage demonstrations during all Masterworks Series concerts in San Diego
In 2003, Mehta was named artistic director of the Ventura Music Festival, bringing world-class musicians with diverse sounds and talents to perform throughout Ventura County. Since becoming artistic director, Mehta has helped to increase attendance at the ten-day springtime festival and has implemented a musical education outreach program that has exposed nearly 4,000 students each year to great music while encouraging participation in musical activities.
