Ten Small Acts That Will Make You Feel Better

Robert Paul Reyes
*It's Spring Cleaning Time. Clean out your closet and donate your old clothes to charity.

Perform a random act of kindness: Feed someone's parking meter, mow your elderly neighbor's lawn...

Register to vote. Living in a democracy and not being a registered voter is akin to attending the same church for years and years without becoming a member.

Send an encouraging email to your favorite American Chronicle writer/blogger.

If you are a writer for a Web site, make it a point to post a positive article at least once a month. It's in a blogger's job description to be snarky and cynical. If we don't write something positive, every once in a while, we will become impossible to live with.

Read a story to your children. It's our responsibility to instill in our kids a love for reading. If you don't have a young child, what the heck, read a story to your cat -- it' great fun to read out loud.

Exercise! Working out for only fifteen to twenty minutes daily will do wonders for your physical health and mental outlook.

Go to ysabellabrave.com and watch Ysabella's music videos. I guarantee this gifted singer will put a smile on your face.

Donate your old eyeglasses to charity. Give someone the gift of clear vision. From lionsclubs.org: "Lions, Leos, and other volunteers collect used eyeglasses for donation to Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers that are located throughout the world. The used eyeglasses are cleaned and classified by prescription."

Smile at a stranger. You might make a new friend.
