Imagine That! Give the Man Some Power and He Tries To Save The World!

Joseph Raglione
Gentle readers of this American chronicle, apparently the United Nations has finally gained the support of the U.S.government! The United Nations can do some real good in the World but without the United States backing it up, it is an uphill battle. President Barack Obama has realized that fact and he is doing exactly the right thing to help and strengthen the U.N., as well as his own political standing in the United States government..>

Good morning,

I'm writing today with an update on the situation in Libya, including the actions we've taken with allies and partners to protect the Libyan people from the brutality of Moammar Qaddafi. For further details, please take a moment to watch this morning's Weekly Address:

Sending our brave men and women in uniform into harm's way is not a decision I make lightly. But when someone like Qaddafi threatens a bloodbath that could destabilize an entire region, it is in our national interest to act. In fact, it΄s our responsibility.

Our mission in Libya is clear and focused -- and we are succeeding.

Along with our allies and partners, we are enforcing the mandate of the United Nations Security Council. Working with other countries, we have put in place a no-fly zone and other measures that will help prevent further violence and brutality. Qaddafi's air defenses have been taken out, and his forces are no longer advancing across Libya.

As a consequence of our quick action, the lives of countless innocent civilians have been saved, and a humanitarian catastrophe has been avoided.

The role of American forces in this mission is limited. After providing unique capabilities at the beginning, we are now handing over control of the no-fly zone to our NATO allies and partners, including Arab partners like Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

The United States has also joined with the international community to deliver urgent humanitarian assistance. We're offering support to the Libyan opposition and have frozen tens of billions of dollars of Qaddafi's assets.

Our message to Qaddafi is clear: attacks against innocent civilians must end, his forces must be pulled back, humanitarian aid must reach Libyans in need, and those responsible for the violence in Libya must be held accountable.

The progress we've made over the past seven days demonstrates how the international community should work, with many nations, not just the United States, bearing the responsibility and cost of upholding international law.

Every American can be proud of the service of our men and women in uniform who have once again stood up for our interests and ideals. And as we move forward, I will continue to keep each of you fully informed on our progress.

Sincerely,

Barack Obama

President of the United States

P.S. On Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. EDT, I will deliver an address at the National Defense University in Washington, DC on the situation in Libya. You can watch the speech live at WhiteHouse.gov/live.

A Message from Barbara Boxer:

Dear Joseph,

Republicans campaigned last year with big promises of job creation. But instead they have launched an all-out assault on women´s health, workers´ rights, and clean air. They even voted to defund PBS.

That´s not a jobs plan – it´s a radical agenda.

Right now, there is only one thing standing in their way – our Democratic Senate. The Republicans know they only need to win four more Senate seats to take over the majority and enact their extreme agenda. We cannot let that happen.

We have just 4 days left before a big FEC deadline, and we need your help now. Please make a contribution to the DSCC today. They must raise $165,233 in the next 4 days to help preserve our Senate majority. Their March Match means you can give a $10 donation for only $5.

Take it from me: I know first-hand the extremes Republicans are willing to go to win. They threw everything but the kitchen sink at me in 2010 – and they will have even more money to fund their attacks this time.

Karl Rove´s shady groups are already promising $120 million to defeat Democrats in 2012. Because of the Citizens United decision, corporations will again be able to give unlimited secret donations to influence our elections. But we have something even more powerful – you!

More than 90 percent of the DSCC´s contributions come from grassroots Democrats who refuse to let the GOP undermine our nation. Without your help, our majority – and ability to stop the Republicans – is in peril.

Click here to give $10 or more to the DSCC. Every dollar you give will be matched, meaning you can make a $10 donation for only $5.

Every time the right wing came after me during the last election, I knew I could count on the DSCC to help me fight back. I truly couldn´t have won in November without the DSCC´s support.

Now, my colleagues need the DSCC´s help. We´re defending an astonishing 23 Democratic seats in 2012. Republicans only have 10. If they gain four seats, we will lose our Senate majority.

This means that what we do now matters. What you do now matters. We need a strong showing for our March 31 deadline – only 4 days from now. The pundits and political prognosticators will be analyzing our numbers to see if Democrats have what it takes to win. We do. But we need your help to prove it.

Click here to give $10 or more to the DSCC. Every dollar you give will be matched, meaning your $10 gift will only cost you $5.

Thanks to your hard work, Democrats still hold the Senate and we can still stop the radical Republican agenda. I need your help today to ensure that´s the case in 2012 and beyond.

Thank you for fighting alongside me.

Sincerely,

Barbara Boxer

About Joseph Raglione
Hi! I am the executive director of the World Humanitarian Peace and Ecology Movement. I began as an environmental activist in 1969 and basically, never stopped! I Graduated College in Social Science and registered as a non-profit corporation in 1988 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I am one of a very few non-profit and generic freedom loving journalists left on Earth, and I continue today to study and to understand the problems connected with human activity on this Planet. My affiliates include: GreenPeace, the Nature Conservancy, the Bio-diversity organization, the Sierra Club, the David Suzuky foundation, the WWF, Amnesty International, World Vision, the IUF organization; as well as the wonderful and independant N.A.S.A. scientists studying our Planet's weather systems. Of course NASA also studies the mysteries of the Eternal Universe with satelite generated images and, over the years, have generously allowed me and thousands of our world scientists to study over their shoulder's via the Internet.
In spite of some past U.S. government repression, NASA continues to provide solid evidence of global warming.
NASA has provided me with pictorial evidence of Rainforest deforestation within: Jakarta, Peru, Africa, Brazil and even in Western Canada!
The motivation for such destruction continues to be (often illegally) for: lumber, for bio-fuels, and for Cattle ranching. Today, the perceived future profits for Palm Oil and for Bio-Fuels are prime motivators for environmental destruction. Small crop farming also contributes but that may be changing as farmers learn to protect the Rain-Forest.
With NASA imaging, there is proof that large city heat traps are helping global warming, and with (infrared images)there is proof that several hundred million gas burning vehicles (including ship and airplanes) presently create a hugh quantity of pollution tracks across both Oceans and Sky.
With oil, gas, Coal and Bio-Fuel heated buildings around the world creating C02 emissions, and with Methane release from all animal species...giant Ozone holes have been created and continue to exist above the North and South Poles. Ozone holes allow the Sun to radiate the Ice Caps and to accelerate the Ice melt, which releases more Methane into the atmosphere, which continues to thin out the Ozone. A vicious circle created by human need and also, unhappily, by human greed!
I have been asked to write to the Prime Minister of Japan to ask him to stop the murderous assault on endangered Whales. Every year, thousands of Whales are killed in the Antarctic with GreenPeace volunteers placing themselves between the Whales and the grenade tipped harpoons, and peope like myself, (I did not forget this is my "Bio," putting my old neck on the line attempting to change the situation by writing thousands if not millions of words!
Are words dangerous?
Over three hundred journalists were killed within the last ten years. You tell me if words are dangerous!
As I write these words, the desperate and starving in Darfur are waiting for rescue. I motivated a few kind hearted California Actors to visit the region and to report back. They did! They then created the Darfur coalition and they continue to fight to save the innocent victims trapped in tents in the desert of the Sudan. Darfuri's were attacked and moved from their homes because somebody believes there is Oil under the Sudan desert.
As I write this, a few sick and desperate people in Iraq are wrapping bombs around themselves in order to die in the name of God, and the list of humanitarian disasters continues. I also contribute information to the Reuter's news service. It is time for a change. Please help make it happen!
