The REAL WAR that has been Going on Most of my life? Under the Carpet/Ice

Most of my life there has been this secret WAR going on. The Cold War. It still goes on. We cancel each other out fortunately? We have Nuclear capability and so does Russia. My parents worried about a Nuclear War. They spoke of their worry to me as a child. I saw for myself as a young man in Holy Loch Scotland the Polaris Submarines that Britain and the USA have ready and which patrol the oceans constantly. It is only when something happens like this accident under the ice recently that we even are reminded of their existence. Meanwhile we have to listen to the daily dirge from Sean Hannity and friends about the concocted war that supposedly prevails. Like "we have to worry that Iran does not like us" "we need to blow them up" says Ann Coulter. In reality Saddam was blowing hot air towards Iran and Iran blows hot air to all Western Allies and what on earth does it all mean? Does anyone really believe that Iran is any threat to the Western Alliance? They could have their Nuclear Power just like other nations do. They could have Nuclear weapons like other nations do. Russia has a ton of them? China has them and the capable technology to knock out a satellite in space. I do know that my parents would have freaked if the Russians had demonstrated such an ability in the sixties and nothing is said of it?

I served my country and yours in the sixties. All of them from 61 to 1970. I served at the front line in Berlin in NATO and went through CheckPoint Charlie just to ruffle their feathers. I was in Spandau Prison for a time serving when Rudolf Hess was the only inmate. I drove Col Ted Eberhardie to Berlin and he confronted the Russian Guard at their War Memorial and stared them out for 15 minutes. He was a Borneo Hero. I drove Tank General Patrick Hobart MC in Bielefeld where we were the tip of the opposition. I was there when JFK made his famous speech at Brandenburg Gate in 1963. He was my Commander. What do these talk show hosts know of such things? There really is a lot of Cr*p said and written about Iraq and the Middle East to further certain causes. For a start, what ARE Hannity and Limbaugh and Coulter going to talk about when we return to sanity and a life of peace? Also military suppliers and companies like Halliburton are doing very nicely thank you USA. Since the time I got my OK to immigrate to America in August 2001 there have been over 7000 deaths in New York and Iraq of Westerners. Apart from 50 in London and a few elsewhere and supposedly one million Iraqi's who is dying in any WAR? Has anyone died in Norway? Has anyone died in Holland? Greece? Why is America in the grip of this so called WAR? Britain did not declare a war on Ireland over terrorist bombs and threats? We did not call it the war with Ireland and Iraq had nothing at all to do with 9/11? Stop Sean from confusing the issue. To depart is NOT to lose the war? To depart makes GOOD sense.

We are perfecting a "Force Field" like in Star Wars and so will Israel as our allies and we only pretend to be concerned about dust bowls like Iraq and Iran and Syria to engender worry and concern from the voters. We can use such worry to get special powers in time of war. We can eavesdrop on our political opponents in a way that Watergate would have much preferred and lessen the chances of being overturned. We can use 'dirty' measures like kidnap and torture more easily for a time. We can encourage our servicemen to be more brutal that usual.We can Veto to our hearts content. Russia is the threat to Nuclear War not Iraq. And China quietly gets stronger and wealthier. Nothing is said? Would we invade and occupy?

Two British Submariners Die During Exercise

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (March 22) - An explosion aboard a nuclear-powered Royal Navy submarine under an Arctic ice cap killed two British sailors and injured a crew member.

The forward compartment of the HMS Tireless was damaged in the explosion at 8:20 p.m. local time Tuesday, but the British Ministry of Defense said its nuclear reactor was not affected. The attack submarine, which does not carry nuclear missiles, was conducting a joint exercise with U.S. forces when its air purification system malfunctioned while the vessel was submerged about 170 miles north of Deadhorse, in northern Alaska's Prudhoe Bay. According to the U.S. Navy, a self-contained oxygen generation candle exploded. The submarine surfaced, breaking through the ice, and a private helicopter brought the injured sailor to Deadhorse, where an Alaska Air National Guard aircraft transported him to Kulis Air National Guard Base in Anchorage, 625 miles south. The sailor's name was not released, but he was reported in stable condition at a civilian hospital. The Tireless was operating with the USS Alexandria in a joint operation to test submarine operability and tactical development in Arctic waters. "I am deeply saddened at the loss of the crew members from the Tireless," said U.S. Navy Vice Adm. Jay Donnelly, commander of the Submarine Force. "We stand by to assist in any way we can." Lt. Col. Andy Price, a Royal Navy spokesman, said the submarine will be evaluated over 12 hours, performing a dive to test its safety systems, before officials decide whether the vessel will continue the joint operation

That notwithstanding the conventional "wisdom" that the status quo that has persisted THROUGHOUT MY LIFETIME, with nuclear missiles aimed at "our enemies" while "they" keep THEIRS aimed at "US", is over and done with --- ACTUALLY, IN REALITY IT CONTINUES UNABATED, with "nuclear platforms" prowling about the Seven Seas at all times.My granddaughter recently "interviewed" me, for a class project, as "someone who was alive during the Cold War". Somehow she and her classmates (and who knows, perhaps even her teachers) seem to have got the notion that all of that is a thing of the distant past.

I explained to her about the concept of "Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD)", and enlightened her to the fact that it all just continues on a "subterranean" basis --- so that SHE TOO STILL LIVES IN THAT SAME "ERA", whether or not she has realized it. It strikes me that a great many other people too would do well to "wrap their heads around" that fundamental reality

3.Like, what are they looking for under the ice? Did they run out of clear blue sea or something? The Brits have hired Gore as an advisor of "global warming". Did Gore suggest that British subs punch holes by surfacing into the Arctic Ice? This is all so very confusing!

4. Nuclear submarines have operated routinely under the arctic ice pack since the 1950's

More specifically NATO nuclear attack sups patrol routinely under the ice because the Russian navy's fleet ballistic missile submarines use the pack ice as a favorite hiding ground.

Your profession of faith is nice to hear but obviously you have no compassion for or understanding of humanity.As for global warming, what makes you an expert? What do you feel is going on with the changes we have been seeing? Is it the message or the messenger that has you disbelieving? You may know that evangelical Christians are now supporting the premises of global warming. Whether you do or don't won't make much difference in the scheme of things.
