HOW TO PROTECT THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES FOR THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES.
North Americans have a polluting lifestyle controlled and dominated by the very rich!
If Television and the Media lose some of their motivating force, the rich will create economic disaster scenarios to scare average citizens into passive obedience. I personally don't advocate socialism, but I do advocate a better political and social and a better and improved justice system where the rich are forced to pay their fair share of Taxes, and the poor are not left to die on the streets. How can that be done? Bring back the soldiers from places like Afghanistan and help them organize into co-operative groups paid by the government to help the poor. Average citizens can also stop buying junk from the large Box stores and they can organize to create co-operative Gardens and co-operative small businesses. They can create products guaranteed to last and are safe for the environment while identifying products that are deadly dangerous for both people and the environment. Average citizens can also create citizen Unions. Unions that will protect individuals from being exploited. Within these Unions average people can do what the rich do all the time...they can pay lawyers to help them lower their Taxes.
Joseph --
Over the next 11 days, the President will ask Republicans to make a choice:
Set aside party politics -- or risk 1,700 Alaska jobs.
Because if a budget agreement isn't reached by next Friday, the government will shut down -- and the President has made clear that the current plan as proposed by congressional Republicans is not acceptable.
The final budget cannot be dictated solely by one party or a narrow set of interests -- it will affect every American.
That's why true leadership means making tough choices and putting people before party or ideology.
And that's the kind of leadership we need over the next 11 days.
The President is calling on both sides to come together, but it's up to us to show Republicans in Congress that we have his back. As negotiations heat up, we all need to speak out to make sure they get the message.
Stand with the President by signing your name today -- and OFA volunteers will deliver your signatures to House Republicans and make sure your voice is not ignored.
Congressional Republicans have less than two weeks to come to the table and help craft a responsible funding plan that won't derail economic growth.
President Obama has laid out a plan that reduces the deficit by a trillion dollars. He's committed to finding common ground to cut wasteful spending, but he won't go along with a plan that eliminates nearly a million jobs, guts investments in education and innovation, and ends protections that keep our food safe and air and water clean.
We simply cannot afford any proposal that weakens our country or sets us back.
The Republican budget:
Prevents the government from implementing health reform, rolling back critical patient protections and cost savings, and returning control of your health care to insurance companies;
Slashes funding for preventive health services that millions of American women depend on through Planned Parenthood -- and eliminates 1,500 community health center jobs across Alaska;
Guts investments in education and infrastructure that will grow the economy and create jobs;
Cuts Alaska homeland security investments by $800,000, hindering local law enforcement's ability to keep our families safe; and
Drops 393 Alaska children from Head Start, an early-education program proven to help students thrive later on.
And it could mean nearly 1 million American jobs lost -- all without making a dent in the deficit.
With a shutdown looming, we're approaching a critical moment that could quickly become a crisis.
Organizing for America will make sure Americans know that millions of people -- from every district in this country -- will be affected by these cuts.
And we'll show lawmakers that we're paying attention, we're organizing, and we're not going to stop. That we refuse to accept partisan games that could cost hundreds of thousands of jobs -- or a government shutdown that puts our economy at risk.
Please add your name in support of the President today:

Joseph --
Democrats and Republicans have to reach an agreement to keep the government operating.
Right now, President Obama is calling on both sides to come to the table and reach a reasonable solution -- a plan that builds for the future while eliminating wasteful spending in the present. A plan where cutting spending is done judiciously -- not recklessly. A plan with investments that create jobs -- not cuts that eliminate them.
But the current Republican proposal is packed with extreme cuts that are clearly serving a political agenda -- cutting billions from Head Start, slashing Pell Grants and other programs that help students pay for college, and completely eliminating funding for Title X family-planning services.
It's not a responsible plan to cut spending -- but a set of policy prescriptions intended to appease the most extreme wing of their party.
And while cuts like these make the Republican plan objectionable -- it's the fact that it puts nearly 1 million jobs at risk that makes it absolutely unacceptable.
So we're standing with President Obama in a very public way -- with an open letter calling on Republicans to work with him and Democrats in Congress to pass a commonsense budget that works for the American people. Supporters will hand-deliver the petition, with your signature, to House Republicans -- making sure our combined voices ring loud and clear.
Add your name to speak out against the Republicans' proposed spending plan -- and call on them to come to the table ready to negotiate.
Right now, the debate surrounding our budget should be about one thing -- people.
An out-of-work father of three isn't concerned with advancing the Republicans' social agenda. All he's thinking about right now is getting back to work so he can pay his mortgage and his gas bill.
A single mother who relies on Head Start for her four-year-old isn't thinking about the political sound bite of the moment -- she is concerned with making sure her daughter can keep up when she enters kindergarten next year.
The American people don't care about political back-and-forth or partisan ideology. They want their government to do right by its citizens.
And that's where the Republican plan falls short.
They would close more than 16,000 classrooms, lay off 55,000 teachers, and cause 218,000 children to be kicked out of early-childhood education programs.
They would slash homeland security investments and lay off thousands of police officers and firefighters, leaving our communities less safe.
They would defund health insurance reform, doing away with the cost savings and vital patient protections relied upon by millions of Americans around the country.
They would eliminate funding for Planned Parenthood, ending thousands of health center jobs across the country and leaving millions of women without access to preventive care.
Now, President Obama knows that this must be a shared sacrifice, and that some cuts must be made -- and he stands ready to work together to find a commonsense solution.
But the current Republican plan would knock this country down just as we've begun to stand back up.
The American people deserve better -- and it's up to us to demand it.
Add your name to call on congressional Republicans to stand down from their irresponsible proposal and work with the President on a reasonable plan that we can all support:

Alternet.com
I hope you will join us in our fight against two of the richest and most destructive men in America.
As we launch our spring fundraising campaign, AlterNet's eyes are trained on all things Koch. Can you support us in exposing and keeping the heat on the Koch brothers? Every little bit helps.
Who They Are
Charles and David Koch own the 2nd largest private corporation in the U.S., with revenues of more than $100 billion. They operate in 60 countries. Koch Industries is a well-documented and infamous polluter of air and water -- and the public discourse.
For too long, the Koch brothers' aggressive funding of the Tea Party movement and a vast right-wing network -- built to destroy unions, deny climate change, and protect their polluting industries -- flew below the radar. But no longer. The Kochtopus has been exposed, and their billionaire lives will never be the same.
There is a very good chance you first heard about the Koch brothers on AlterNet, where we have published dozens of articles about their nefarious activities and political manipulations.
The Wisconsin Uprising
Reporting on the Kochs' vast influence in Wisconsin's battle for workers' rights, AlterNet burst out of the gate early. We were the first to report the connections between Gov. Scott Walker's union-busting power-grab and Koch-supported institutions and politicians, beating the New York Times on the story by three days.
AlterNet was also the first to report on the partnership between Koch and Murdoch, showing how Fox News and the Wall Street Journal -- both owned by Murdoch's News Corporation -- collude with the Koch-funded Americans For Prosperity to spread and amplify disinformation about labor unions, health-care reform and climate change.
But we know you want more than that: you want to know what you can do to reduce the Koch influence on your daily lives. That's why we put together our boycott guide to Koch Industries products -- ranging from Brawny paper towels and Dixie cups, to Stainmaster carpet and Georgia Pacific lumber -- the guide registers as one of our most-read articles in recent weeks.
As Jim Hightower Says
As our friend and long-time Koch watcher Jim Hightower says of Charles and David Koch: "It's all about them, you see -- they want to be free of anti-pollution regulations, labor laws, corporate taxes, and other policies that serve the common good. The public be damned. Keep your eyes on these two. After all, the higher the monkey climbs, the more you see of its ugly side."
Since early in 2009, AlterNet has kept close tabs on the brothers Koch. But to keep our journalists combing public records, reporting from the field, and coaxing reluctant sources into spilling the beans on these would-be oligarchs, we need your help. We need to raise $50,000 in this Spring campaign to keep our budget whole. The first portion of that will be invested in more investigations into the long tentacles of the Koch Brothers. Please help us with as much as you can.
Thank you,
Dear Joseph,
Stop the assault on polar bears --
I have terrible news: The world's biggest oil companies have teamed up to strike down America's largest wildlife preserve.
Hiding behind their lobby group, ExxonMobil, Chevron, Shell, BP and 11 other oil behemoths just filed suit to abolish the 120-million-acre polar bear preserve set up last year in response to a campaign by the Center for Biological Diversity.
Please help us stop Exxon and BP from destroying America's largest wildlife preserve. Donate today to our Polar Bear Protection Fund.
The polar bear wildlife preserve is bigger than 48 of the 50 states (it's nearly 25,000 square miles larger than California). It's bigger than the entire national park system. And it's desperately needed to save the polar bear from extinction.
Due to global warming and industrial development, scientists predict that polar bears will disappear from Alaska by 2030 and could be extinct worldwide by the end of the century -- unless we take action to save them.
With your help, the Center is ready to jump into action. We'll file a legal motion to intervene against the Alaska Oil and Gas Association lawsuit. Then we'll file motions showing that the oil lobby's case should be thrown out.
Exxon and BP aren't shy about why they want the polar bear preserve abolished: They want to bring industrial oil drilling to Alaska's pristine coastlines and offshore waters.
Please donate today to the Polar Bear Protection Fund. The Center's lawyers and scientists are ready to go toe-to-toe with the oil industry, but lawsuits are expensive, and we can't get into court without your financial help.
The Center can stop Alaska's North Slope from becoming as industrialized as the Gulf of Mexico. We've held off all new offshore drilling permits there since 2007. To stop this latest attack, though, we have to step it up, and we need your help to do it.
For all that's wild,
Kierán Suckling
Executive Director
Center for Biological Diversity
P.S. The 120-million-acre polar bear preserve is essential to protecting other imperiled species including the walrus, bearded seal and beluga whale. Please help us stop this unprecedented assault on the nation's largest wildlife preserve: Donate today to the Polar Bear Protection Fund.
