Last 11 years see the ten warmest years on record!

Ian Brockwell
The NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) have reported that this has been the world’s warmest winter since records began in 1880, and the ten warmest years on record have all occurred since 1995.

Although the NOAA has not said that this winter is “evidence of the influence of greenhouse gases”, it accepts that climate change is happening and “the warming trend is due in part to rises in greenhouse gas emissions”.

Of course, you don’t have to be a scientist to know that changes are taking place, we can see that for ourselves. Russia’s capital, Moscow, saw almost no snow at all for most of January, and temperatures were well above normal. The winters have become noticeably milder in the last 12 years, with less snow falling than usual.

Most of the biggest temperature increases have been seen in the Northern Hemisphere, but higher temperatures have been experienced by almost every country this winter, with the exception of parts of Saudi Arabia and the central United States.

Will this trend continue? It certainly looks that way, but will the temperature increases accelerate in the future?

Until we know exactly what is causing the global warming effect, it’s impossible to guess the outcome. If the warming is a result of human activities, then this is something we can reverse over a period of time, but we may be too late to stop a dramatic rise in sea levels due to the damage we have already done. The Sun may be creating the problem, as some have suggested, and this situation could change at any time. A third option, which very few people have given serious thought to, is a cosmic cause that is perhaps present in our galaxy. This is something I have written about before and included in my book.

I believe that our solar system may be passing through a more active area in our galaxy, just as it did the last time we were here (250 million years ago). A time when our planet saw extreme temperatures and much higher sea levels, a moment in our history when almost all life became extinct (a period also known as the “great dying”).

This is only a theory which unfortunately is difficult to prove, but then so are the other explanations that we have been offered, none of which provide any solid evidence. Some of the reports are clearly politically motivated, but what if the real cause has been known for some years, wouldn’t it be better to keep the world guessing, rather than reveal a future where very few (if any) humans might survive?

The book “Global Warming – The Final Solution” explores the worst case scenario and the problems we would face, not in some distant future, but in the next 20 years!
