Seven to a Room
Under the skillful direction of International Classic Acting Project (ICAP) founder and artistic director Elizabeth Huffman, Landscape of Dreams in Seven Movements interweaves the dreams of great writers from many languages and times into a symphony of human consciousness. This work in progress, which contains mature themes, will be playing at the Park La Brea Theatre on March 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. and again on Sunday, March 18 at a 2 p.m. matinee. The show stars Andrew Amani, Desiree Hill, Karen Kähler, Helene McCardle, Nick Ortega, Sharon Rosner, and Alyssa Tomoff. Tickets are $10 per person and reservations are recommended (323-549-5458).
The Park La Brea Theatre is located at the Activities Center inside Park La Brea, 475 S. Curson Avenue West in Los Angeles. Parking (available in the museum lot on the corner of 6th and Curson) is free for the Friday and Saturday performances and $8 on Sunday.
ICAP was launched in 2005 as an innovative platform on which to bring together actors and artists from around the globe in both a multicultural and multilingual venue that presents classical plays as well as bold new works that re-interpret classical themes regarding the human condition. In addition to its outreach play series (see http://www.icaptheatre.com/ for upcoming shows and reviews of past productions), ICAP incorporates staged readings, community workshops and theater festivals into a program that strives to reach as many diverse populations as possible.
