President George W. Bush's Latin American Tour Not Going Well

Robert Paul Reyes
President Bush's ratings are in the dumpster; I don't blame him for leaving the White House for a six-day tour of Latin America.

But Bush is just as unpopular in Latin America; he has been met with violent protests at the start of his tour in Brazil.

And according to the Associated Press:

"Mayan priests will purify a sacred archaeological site to eliminate "bad spirits" after President Bush visits next week."

Bush's "goodwill tour" is stirring up nothing but bitterness and enmity; he would be well advised to stay home.

If we had a parliamentary form of government Bush would have received a vote of "no confidence" a long time ago. Unfortunately, we are stuck with him for the remainder of his term.

It's not just in South America that Bush is leaving a malodorous odor, his domestic and foreign policies stink to high heaven. I can't vouch for the efficacy of the purification rituals of the Mayan priests, but I hope their ministrations will restore the purity of their archaeological sites.

The only thing that will restore the purity of the White House would be impeachment of the president and vice-president, but that's not likely to happen. I would settle for a good fumigation of the White House.
