Can we continue to allow this?
As the story from Walter Reed Medical Center has brought some insight as to how we treat those that have put their lives on the line to defend us. We should be alerted to many more issues about our government that seems to have lost its reason for being. If we treat injured veterans in such a despicable way then you can imagine the treatment the rest of us receive. And as has been reported these soldiers have been told not to speak openly or risk some form of retaliation.
I am sorry but I was led to believe in the American Dream or is this just like Santa and the Easter Bunny things that are not true and just something to amuse us while the truths are hidden? How many times have we been told that life is not fair? But how many of us ask the question, Why Not? I’ll warn you that you don’t receive an answer as there is none.
As mental illness with the stigma involved was misunderstood by most in the recent past today, we have Autism and its many spectrums that many of us just shrug our shoulders and accept. (Because life just isn’t fair). My father is 85 years old and we discussed the fact that he has Diabetes and he truly believes that it was his fault that he contracted this disorder. He believes the spin that it is the foods he ate and nothing more. This is despite the fact that there was no family history of Diabetes. He just can’t believe that his government would not tell him the facts as to why diabetes and other autoimmune disorders are on the rise. He accepts the proverbial, Life just isn’t fair.
As with my son’s that fall under the Autism Spectrum disorders I am led to think that vaccines and toxins that are over burdening society have nothing to do with it. I could say okay and just ignore the facts that I hardly know anyone with children that are not diagnosed with either an autoimmune disorder or spectrum disorder any more. I just can’t believe that this has always been this way and better diagnostics is the reason.
Are we living in a fictional land as Alice in Wonderland was where a pill is the answer to all of life’s problems? Has history become so muddled that we demand to keep reliving the mistakes of the past? Is the greed of the powerful worth the deaths and injuries to the rest of us? Life is only not fair if you allow it to be so. We live in an information age and yet we don’t utilize this information for our own good as we lack vision and except what those with titles claim to be the truth.
Our willingness to go outside of the box is risky and not promoted despite the fact that is how societies have advanced over the centuries. Those with vision and a willingness to disregard the norm and seek new answers have reputations destroyed. Have we forgotten the great explorers of the past who found new lands? Have we forgotten those that pushed the envelopes in science who ignored those that said it couldn’t be done? How can we expect to find cures, causes of disease and disorders if nobody will go beyond the realm of what is known? And why have we come to a point where when someone does these things they are called junk scientists or worse?
Are there reasons you are not to go in these places? Have mistakes been made and will these put into question the ability of our government agencies to protect us? Just look at how the Walter Reed problem is being handled. The General who over saw the situation as it began to go down hill was put back in charge with a no talking order. Openness in our government is closing up tighter and tighter. This chokes our very being and is a major cause of corruption.
Our disabled veterans, children and adults requires this openness and we should all understand that not only is it the right thing to do but it is how you correct mistakes and stop them from happening again. After all do we want answers or do we want to just keep believing that nothing is wrong and life just isn’t fair?
