Hotels With No Condoms Get Fined

A Chinese province has taken the unusual step of fining hotels and bars more than $600 if they do not provide condoms, part of efforts to fight the spread of AIDS”
The booming eastern province of Zhejiang, with 1,859 recorded infections by the end of last year, started enforcing the rules on Thursday, the Beijing News said.
Condoms or condom-vending machines must be placed in hotels, bars and designated public places, or the managers will be fined 5,000 yuan ($650),’ the report said.”
In America most hotels rooms have Gideon Bibles, but people don’t go to hotels to hold Bible studies. Many amorous couples use hotels and motels as a place to rendezvous, and a condom would come in a lot handier than a Bible.
The American government shouldn’t take the heavy-handed approach of the Chinese and fine hotels if they don’t provide condoms. But a hotel chain that is customer service friendly should instruct the maids to place a condom, instead of a mint, on the pillow.
Most hotels rooms have X-rated movies and mini-bars that are well stocked; it’s no wonder that many businessmen end up calling an escort service. Hotels are partly responsible for the sexual shenanigans of their customers, the least they can do is provide free condoms.
