20th Century Contributions of Islam
But the 20th century also witnessed the Holocaust, Ethnic Cleansing and Terrorism, (humanity’s constant failures but on an unprecedented scale), and the creation of Nuclear Weapons. The developed nations, the Western World and the Soviet Block, are both the creators of the advances and perpetrators of the atrocities.
In the 20th century, aside from development of Nuclear weapons by Pakistan (and its exportation to several rogue nations), the medical, scientific and technological advances by the Islamic Nations are so small that they can be labeled non-existent. The Islamic Nations have allowed the West to explore their lands, find and extract oil, and sell it to world. They have amassed vast fortunes that they have used to allow their leaders to live in unimaginable luxury, while their general populace has shared little to none of the prosperity.
But what they did do is promote their own brand of extremist Islam, which has bred a generation of terrorists and suicide bombers. The Islamic Nations have no interest to live in harmony with Nations that do not unconditionally accept their brand of Islam. The Sunnis consider the Shiites non-traditional, and the Shiites claim that the Sunnis are not strict followers of Prophet Mohammad’s instructions. But they both despise the rest of the world, whom they label as infidels. That is, not followers of the only true religion: Islam.
While some in the West have committed atrocities, others have made significant contributions to mankind’s progress for a better world. Some Islamic extremists, on the other hand, are equally guilty of committing atrocities, yet there are few Islamists that have made contributions to mankind’s progress for a better world. What’s more significant is that while most in the West hope that the atrocities of the past will not be repeated, the Islamists promote terrorism. And while the West is striving to live in harmony with Islam, Islamists are determined to convert the world to its ways or destroy it.
