Outdated Antivirus software causes bad performance of Outlook
Let's consider an error message that creates serious problems for you. When you attempt to open MS-Office Outlook in your system, sometimes you fail to open it and alternatively you receive an error message on the screen same as shown below:
"Your Antivirus software has blocked the file you were trying to open."
On getting this error message, the data of all the mail-objects becomes inaccessible.

Incompatibility of software is one of the main reason. Antivirus software is not compatible with MS-Office Outlook.
Use of an outdated anti-virus software and damaged signature files of Antivirus software might also result in the above error.
You are attempting to open a PST file that is infected by a virus and your Antivirus software is not able to remove that virus.
Destroyed or damaged PST file may also be the reason.

For solving above error message you need to keep track of some measures:
In case you have newly installed the Antivirus, then its incompatibility might be the issue. Change the Anti-virus to ensure the problem is not encountered.
If outdated Anti-virus software is the issue, then try to resolve it bydownloading the latest version of the Anti-virus software. Also, make sure that since virus definitions are updated regularly, you upgrade the version of your Anti-virus periodically.
If PST file corruption is the probable cause, then use inbuilt Inbox repair tool to repair damaged PST file. To execute this tool follow the below stated steps
(1) Go to Start >> Search >> All files and folders.
(2)Type Scanpst.exe in name box.
(3)By double clicking, open Inbox repair tool.
(4)Specify the path of the PST file and use repair command.
