Get Yourself on the Right Track

Roseanna Jane Leaton
When you are just sixteen years old how do you know what you want to do with your life? Some sixteen year olds (the exception as opposed to the rule) have a very firm inner knowledge about their purpose in life. They know what they are meant to do and so are able to plan their way towards it.

Your mind works best when you have an end result in mind. As you focus upon your goal, and see that end result clearly in your mind's eye, your subconscious instinctively begins to work upon achieving it, unconsciously seeking out ways in which to get there.

Your logical mind also takes on more focus when a goal is clearly aid out in front of you. If you know that you want to be a lawyer, accountant, secretary, artist or conservationist you will choose a pathway which leads you most easily and directly towards that goal. At the same time your subconscious mind will notice more events and happenings which accord with that goal.

Even if your goal was simply to get a particular type of car you would become aware of noticing many more of those cars on the roads than before. Are there really more of them? No, you are simply noticing them more because the mere act of having that goal puts your subconscious mind on high alert to perceive everything about them. Your mind has already begun working towards your goal.

If you don't know what you want then your mind is left open to perceive anything and everything; you do not have the advantage of instinctive goal-oriented focus which would harness your energy and channel it to propel you towards that goal.

And so if at age sixteen you do not know what you want to do, the tendency is to make choices which give you as wide a spread of options as possible. You can in this way become a good "all rounder" but it is difficult to achieve high levels of mastery in anything in particular. It is estimated that it takes 10,000 hours of practice in anything to achieve the highest levels of competency. As an "all-rounder" it's not that you cannot achieve this mastery; it is just that you haven't spent your time in focused goal oriented effort thus far.

What can you do to help yourself get on the right track? There are many different tests which you can take which will show you whether you are more auditory or visual, more creative or more logical, or whether your strengths lie in being a leader or a team member or so on. Taking these psychometric tests will help you to learn more about your natural ways of learning or working. In learning more about yourself you are in a better position to make an informed choice when choosing goals for yourself.

These tests aren´t just for sixteen year olds. There are many forty years olds who are still wondering what their real purpose in life is, having simply found themselves in a position whereby their lives have just "happened" instead of being directed and driven by themselves. It is easy to reach a "mid life crisis" and wonder how on earth you can say "stop" and take a quantum leap towards the right track.

Another element which is required in the goal setting mix is confidence. With confidence you will have the courage to take unusual, difficult or daunting steps. Confidence is something which can be learned, not just as a youth, but at any age. Hypnosis is a very powerful tool which can help anyone to build confidence and focus clearly upon their goals.

Roseanna Jane Leaton

Roseanna started practicing as a hypnotherapist in 1989, working in all areas of self-improvement, ranging from helping people to overcome their fears and phobias, to all aspects of hypnosis for complementary health, to sports mind retraining. Hypnosis is a wonderful tool which allows access to your inner mind, allowing allignment of purpose and resolution of conflicts.

Her clinical hypnotherapy practice led to a desire to reach out and help as many people as possible and modern technology has made this possible - recording techniques allow multi-track sessions which produce a deep hypnotic effect, and can be even more effective than a 1:1 session. The ability to download mp3s via the internet was the other technological advancement which paved the way to producing this hypnosis mp3 download website.

Roseanna is passionate about all aspects of complementary health care, including hypnotherapy, and would like to see a continuation of its gradual acceptance into main stream medicine. She is interested in scientific research which confirms its effectiveness, and pleased to see that there is a growing body of evidence which proves how effective hypnosis is for so many things. She loves golf and so have a detailed section on the website devoted to the mental skills involved in this great game. She spends a lot of time now in sunny California and is in the process of selecting a country club to join so that she can feed her golfing addiction!

Sports mind training accounts for a relatively large section of this hypnosis download website. The other main sections are hypnosis for complementary health, self-improvement and overcoming fears and phobias. Needless to say, hypnosis is probably best known as an effective way of easily losing weight, stopping smoking or stopping biting your finger nails; but these are just a very few of the behavioral changes which hypnosis can assist in making.
