Why One Promotional Strategy Isn’t Enough for Your Site
Because there isn’t one perfect site promotion strategy - one of my biggest secrets to online success is that I use more than one strategy and let them all build on each other together, in one direction - towards me. Yes, I could stop using article marketing today and just rely on Blogging and RSS for weeks, sometimes months at a time - and I do.
But that’s only because
1- I automate so that the other streams of traffic work by themselves until I feel the need to crank them up.
2- I make all my traffic techniques work in synergy to continue to produce results for me.
When I’m concentrating on blogging a few hours a week, I’m doing it in a way that’s beneficial to my organic search engine listings. When I’m looking to target a new term in the search engines, the other terms don’t stop working. And when I’m article marketing, I am keeping organic search strategies in mind - and pointing some of the results to my blog.
You can’t do just one thing to promote, and hope to remain successful online. It just doesn’t work that way.
It’s just like it is in the offline world. If you had a storefront, would you suddenly stop taking credit card orders just because 80% of your sales were coming from people who wrote checks?
No. You’d be out of your mind to pass up good money. And what would happen when check orders went down again?
So why do we do the same thing online? Why do so many of us rely on one magic elixir when we can have multiple streams of traffic, multiple streams of cash and multiple sources of clients?
Because we somewhere along the lines got it into our heads that there is only one way, maybe two, to succeed online, and that this ultimate goal is appearing in search engines.
What we all need to realize is that there are many ways to get exposure online - and many of them also lend themselves to better search engine results, if implemented properly.
