One of my greatest gifts and also my biggest downfall is that I expect things to make sense. I expect the world around me to resonate with reason, I expect that the good guys will beat the bad guys and I expect that doctors will make decisions based on strong medical science and not the bottom line. Yes, I am naïve and often disappointed. There is a lot of frenzy over Merck’s new HPV vaccination and originally I was put off simply by the short amount of time it has been on the market and the low (approximately 2000) test subjects used in the study, but now I have found the entire world of vaccinations to be dark and misguided.
