America in Danger? In Danger of Sean Hannity Diatribe? We need to be broader minded altogether?

America is in danger. Terrorism is a definite worry. There will be other incidents just as there have been many in other parts of the Western world. One big reason might be the bigoted narrow-minded diatribe of the likes of Sean Hannity and most of his fellow presenters. They remind me of the hateful Enoch Powell in my England for years and years. He had HIS platforms and the media gave him a voice to express his hatred but he did not have his own radio program to be able to orchestrate and engineer and finely edit to produce the anger and eruption like the one against the Amman yesterday. I can almost visualize Sean swinging back on his office chair and his disciples all around him smiling and fawning just as was presented in the movie “Queen”. (Tony Blair was depicted as having belittled the Head of State of fifty years over HER resistance to doing the right thing over Diana’s death.) In that movie you start off being annoyed at Lizzie’s stiffness and end up compassionate at her loneliness in relying on history and protocol.

Sean was always going to try and corner the Amman on his show and he would have promised a load of cr*p he would not stand by just to get him there. The frustration and anger you heard was of a man desperate to get a Muslim platform but who was always going to be forced to say things that would alienate the narrow minded. Sean was always going to orchestrate that. That is why that kind of radio station must stop. It would not exist in the UK. It is no different from the kind of language that ferment’s anger and which is being cracked down on and stopped in Britain. I have seen America’s reaction to Muslims demonstrating in London and thought “what’s the problem?” It is only people venting verbally? They may speak venomously but there is freedom of speech. As a soccer player and supporter and professional soccer Videographer of a number of years I have witnessed supporters saying what they would like to do to the referee and the opposing players and Uncle Tom Cobley an all. Venting is healthy and watching soccer and venting was all that kept the working classes sane in Britain for a couple of hundred years. It was better than swinging the cat or hittin the missus. My lovely sweet partner in life was the head of a Elderly Residential Home and dignified and demure in her office all week but on a Saturday she would prefer to be in the stands with her factory welder brother cursing all and sundry like a ‘fishwife’. I could see the value of that for her and for a lot of others who mostly kept it to “verbal”. It was a release from pent up feelings.

The problem here is that America does not allow verbal for the Muslims and they are not allowed to think of Iraq as being “oppressed” and “occupied” and it is insane for Sean and for America not to see it like that. Many here do not see it like that and it is entirely worrying that they don't. Many Americans do NOT see that asking the Amman to decry Iran and Hezbollah and Hamas would be like asking an Irishman to decry the IRA in New York ten years ago. Stop for a moment and imagine Sean cynically asking a prominent IRA follower to answer the question as to whether the IRA was a Terrorist Organization and not allowing any further discussion unless the IRA person decried his following. “Is Hezbollah a state supported terrorist organization?” would be like asking whether the IRA was a state supported terror organization. Well yes it was supported romantically in New York pubs and institutions and many a death and busted limb in England and Ireland was paid for in New York and the rest of America. Until 9/11 woke us all up.

Not allowing the Amman to say what common sense should appreciate will only further the fury and angst and you do not make America safe by suppressing that. You HAVE to listen to the IRA. You had to forget that they killed the wonderful man Lord Louis Mountbatten. You HAVE to talk. You cannot have the one sided show with the man with the slider orchestrating his own words and keeping the opposition quiet and cutting them off at a whim. It is nothing short of despicable to me but not to many and not to enough of us. I am glad to see common sense returning to my second favorite country. I want to be proud. The bigotry of the South in regard to Race and Slavery exists still. The bigotry now is to the Muslim and the Mexican. You can shoot to kill a Mexican and expect that you might be pardoned any time soon. I am from Peterborough just north of London and I see that a guy I taught to drive as a boy is now a Local Councilor, turban and all. His name is Del Singh. Here he would be seen as ‘one of them’. That is so so dangerous.

When you travel, and I mean even if you travel only in your mind, then you might see it all differently. I saw “freedom writers” recently and these kids had never even left Long Beach. The “Free French” were no different from Hamas or Hezbollah. They exist in countries that are prone to invasion and occupation. I was in my Church for the “Kirkin of the Tartan” that went back to the oppression of the Scots by the brutal English. It is history and we can't change it. History is written by the world and not by the nation. Will the world see it as oppression and occupation in Iraq? Yes Yes of course they will. They already do. Sean is so narrow minded and naive about it. Democrats seem to understand that there is a lot about Iraq that stinks.

Imagine a German radio station cornering a French Jew and asking him if the French Resistance was a terrorist organization. The French guy would be promised that the conversation would be polite and friendly and cordial but really all the German wanted to do was to stir up the Listener to understanding why it was necessary to occupy France for their own good. And that this French guy was trying to justify all those young German Soldiers being killed by French Resistance Insurgents blowing up Troop trains and stuff? Sean just wanted a bunch of Germans to rise up and support the idea that all French Jews were evil and needed to be destroyed. I know I know, this will infuriate Jews and Americans alike because no one wants to devalue how awful that all was then but can't you see the ‘seed’ that brings forth the hatred that enforces and continues the occupation that Sean sees as the ‘only way’? Sean needs the war to survive?

What is all this stuff about “winning”? What is winning? Is winning killing all ‘freedom fighters’? Did Britain kill all Irish freedom fighters? No. There is still division there. There is still rivalry between Catholic and Protestant that is incredulous in this day and age. It is no longer acceptable to bomb and maim and the IRA knows it. They now talk just as we must talk to the Muslim who gets upset enough to put on a bomb and kill themselves. We are quietly trying to solve the inequalities that we have allowed to exist for the average Palestinian that has fermented the hatred the Arabs have for us. The hatred even further exacerbated by bad treatment of Arabs in Abu Ghraib and elsewhere. We need to talk to Iran about their desire for Nuclear Power and they have a right. "They are not a threat to the world worth "bombing to kingdom come until they can't even build a transistor radio" as defined by Ann Coulter a while ago with Sean on his show. China has the technology to knock out a satellite but we fuss over these dust bowls and over Castro in an infantile mentality. The world will watch and wonder why we don't face up to Russia and China with the real threat they present instead of stomping around a dust bowl with no water no electricity and no navy army or air force? We need to mentally row to the other side of the pond guys and Sean surely won't because he could not exist over there. He can't even leave his enclave, his safe dark cave. We all can. We don't have to be short sighted and in fear of the world as he would have you. He talks of nuclear bombs in our cities when all they can do is futilely protest and they did and it has and will make a difference now.
