High School Football Player Gets Flagged For Pointing To God!
After Hastie scored, he dropped to one knee and pointed to the heavens. The referee threw a flag and said it was unsportsmanlike conduct.
It's usually one or two seconds long,' Hastie reportedly said, explaining that he has pointed up as a gesture to God after every touchdown he has scored. 'It's something I've done as a tradition.'

Hastie was pointing to the heavens, but he might as well have been pointing to himself. Hastie was calling attention to himself by engaging in such a self-serving stunt, it's about time that a referee threw a flag for unsportsmanlike conduct at a football player who points to God after making a touchdown.
Hastie isn't "glorifying God" by pointing to Him after he scores a touchdown, because he is implying that the Almighty is a silly creature who is enthralled by a high school football game.
Hastie should be ashamed of himself; he owes his teammates and his fellow students an apology. I'm glad the courageous official nipped Hastie's ridiculous antics in the bud.
