Imagine Shrinking Giant Wind Turbines Into Mini-Wind Turbines!
By human4us - Nov 23, 2010 10:52:03 PM ET
Dear Barack Obama:
Imagine a giant wind turbine shrunk to the size of a dinner plate, and the wind that powers that turbine stored in a fibre tube and compressed to 300 barometric pressures. Imagine fitting one or two compressed Air Tubes under an existing all Electric Vehicle and allowing the super compressed Air to fire at Electricity generating turbine blades, spinning them fast enough to power an Electric Car for several hours. You don't have to imagine the Electric Car, because it already exists and heck, you don't even have to imagine the Compressed Air Tubes because they also already exist. The mini-turbine, however, will have to be created and I am positive it is not a difficult problem for mechanical engineers. With compressed Air as a back up source of power, a longer range is possible for all Electric Vehicles. The compressed Air Cylinders can be refilled in Three Minutes. Electric Vehicle Batteries, of course, need more time for recharging but with the added boost from the mini-turbine, the Vehicle will run for longer distances. The only thing missing is for somebody with enough political and social power to make it happen. Could that person be you?
I was hoping the people at General Motors would take this idea seriously because as you know, the Chevy Volt only has a Forty Mile range using only Batteries. That range could be extended when Gas is burned in a backup generator, but if the idea was to stop using Gas and Oil, the Chevy Volt does not pass the test! I do know for a fact that an inventor in Australia has both the compressed air tubes and a small motor that runs his all Air vehicles...>
