Why wait on government concerning Autism/ADD and ADHD
It can cost three times the tax dollars to educate these children. This is happening while school districts are finding themselves squeezing every penny as hard as they can. Again this becomes every ones burden. Instead of the teacher student ratio of 1:28 as the norm these special education classes can drop to 1:6.
The cost in healthcare can be staggering as these children can require continual prescription refills and monthly visits to not only the family doctor but also psychiatrists and or psychologists as well as therapists. The London School of Economics once projected the cost of Autism alone to reach 410 billion dollars in the United States alone by 2010.
This would be a yearly outlay that will most likely surpass that by next year if it hasn’t already. And yet this appears to be a subject that is ignored as it contributes to the economic burden on the nation as a whole. The medical community waits for the government agencies to signal what to do and yet the government seems less interested about this issue than it does about trying to change the political structure of the whole world.
We pretty much face the fact that the only way to fix this problem is to do it ourselves. Let us not forget that it took 50 years for the government to react about the dangers of smoking. Can we afford 50 years for the government to admit the cause or causes of the problems we have now? There are options that can be taken that will give our children and young adults a better future.
There are treatments being made more available by the hour. The most promising include the non drug forms such as diet awareness and chelating or toxin removal. Many of the toxins that have been increasing in levels can be removed and therefore allowing the brains circuitry to act normally. There will be cases when the damage will be too severe but the vast majority will benefit. And even in the worst of cases there is help at hand.
There are reasons that your government doesn’t act as they care more about profit for big industries then they do about finding the cause(s). As with the power of the tobacco industry of the past those that have given rise to this monster some of us fight daily are the very ones that generate profit from it or despite it. And truly that dollar is worth more than your son or daughter to them.
