THE GREAT APRIL-IN-BOSTON MEDIA REFORM ASSEMBLY MEETING!
Advertising departments and or/agencies sell space for products in Newspapers and on Television, and they create revenue for the supposedly unbiased News departments. This would be fine and dandy if one did not interfere with the other, but unfortunatley and especially during the last few election years, lines have been crossed.
Commercialism, or yellow-journalism as it was called a hundred years ago, (referring to the Advertising Yellow Pages of the old Telephone Books) is not supposed to interfere with the Freedom Of The Press! Unfortunately, a few unsrupulous company C.E.O.'s decided that because they owned the company, they would control the Media News and the Reporters who worked for them. They would and did slant the News towards the politicians and the commercial end of the spectrum, who gave them the most economic and political benefits, and to hell with fact based reality! As the English Wits used to say.. "A bit of a sticky wicket, what!" ...>
