FL: Rock

Melody Schubert
Our family wanted something exciting to do while in Florida. We decided to visit Universal Studios Orlando & Islands Of Adventure. Our first question was where to stay? Universal Orlando has several choice close to all the excitement of Citywalk, a lively nightspot where we found clubs, dining, and shopping.

The Royal Pacific Resort

Since we were in a large group we split our group between two of the resorts at Universal, so we'd be close to everything. We decided on the Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando, an exotic piece of paradise that made a perfect getaway.

The exotic landscape transported us from the mundane to an exotic and lush Asian Pacific landscape filled with orchids, waterfalls, exotic sculptures, and lagoons. The room was beautiful. Our first test was the bed. There's nothing worse than sleeping on a rock. We were surprised it felt like we were lying on a cloud.

The cozy, comfort of decor and furnishing added the right touch to our exotic escape. Downstairs, we gathered for dinner in a private room everyone loved. The kids enjoyed lounging on the pedestal in the middle of the room and being treated like royalty while we savored our seafood. There's a variety of choices on the menu to suit everyone palate too.

The Hard Rock Hotel

We joined the rest of our family at the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando. The old mission style of the hotel reminded us of the Eagles song: Hotel California. Splitting up between hotels was a great way to experience all they had to offer. The Hard Rock Hotel comes to life at night when everyone is ready to rock at the City Walk entertainment complex. The live entertainment and music venues kept us up all night hopping from places to places. We had so much fun at City Walk and checking out the unbelievable collection of Rock 'N' Roll memorabilia at the Hard Rock Hotel we didn't realize it was after 2am until we made it back to our rooms.

The Portofino Bay Hotel

There is also the Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando we vowed to stay at on our next trip. The Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando is romantic resort where guests slip away to an Italian dreamscape that includes a seaside village, fountains, archways, and l'oeil art.

Each of the Universal Resorts has many amenities, including several dining options, business centers and meeting space, fabulous spas and pools, and activities and entertainment for the whole family; making them a one-stop destination to enjoy all that Universal has to offer in one convenient location!

Plan Your Trip

Between the hospitality of our host and staff at our resorts to the wild rises at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, we had a great time. Oh, we did find a shark and go practically hang gliding on a winged dinosaur in Jurassic park!
