Iraqi People Need to Stand Up for Their Country
It is not unreasonable to ask a country to deal with their messes. They see that our men are being targeted and killed; they do not seem to care, since it not them.
Do they want another Saddam on their hands? Are they so blind as to sit back and think that doing nothing will get them peace? We are long past the time when doing nothing is an option.
My solution is to hand the country back over to the Iraqi’s and let the U.N. send some peace monitors in. Of course, this might include a mandatory draft, and sending their people into harms way. They should deal with thugs the way they have been dealt with, by giving them the death penalty. Deport any people that did not come into the country legally, and shut the door on Iran and Syria.
I know this is controversial, but America cannot afford financially or emotionally to send any more troops into Iraq. President Bush thinks that a speech on a new strategy is going to change the opinions of Americans, but I think he is mistaken. We lost Iraq a long time ago, and he needs to acknowledge that. You do not keep sending people into failure, because they then start taking desperate measures.
The Iraq war can only be won by the people in that country standing up and taking it out of the hands of the enemy even at the cost of some blood..
