The Same Old Rheteric!
Obviously our President did not like the Baker-Hamilton recommendations either, which explicitly admitted that the US forces in Iraq are in a crisis, and consequently his Administration has no other choice than to prepare for retreat to put an end to the disastrous results.
Bush still insists that drowning in the Iraq quagmire is not the result of a wrong decision, for the ideology is flawless; Iraq must be occupied, the Gulf must be dominated, and Arabs must be put under the military throes of the righteous American empire.
The problem in Bush’s handling of this crisis is that he always sees that the means are still less than the size of the mission. That’s why he demands Congress to allocate billions more dollars for the war, send an additional 20,000 troops into the fray, give him full powers to spy on Americans, and put Arabs and Muslims under suspicion of terrorism until proven innocent.
Our President has decided to make broad changes in his political and military administration including the ‘loyal’ crew that enthusiastically supported the aggression against Iraq and participated in the conception and execution of the project. It is clear that Mr Bush is willing to replace everybody starting with Rumsfeld and Bolton, and ending with Abizaid, Casey, and Khalilzad. Mr. Bush remains the most enthusiastic person for the American occupational project in the Arab region.
