Acne Whiteheads – Some simple tips to get rid of them

Steve Taylor
The condition of acne and other resulting blemishes on the face is a pretty embarrassing problem. It can sap a person´s confidence and even make him or her depressed. Depending on the body metabolism and skin condition of a person, various manifestations of acne can erupt. Though the primary cause remains the accumulation of grime and sebaceous fluid which blocks the pores of the skin, the extent to which the clogged pores become affected becomes apparent in the form of either whiteheads or blackheads. If not treated on time, this can become severe and develop into papules, cysts and pustules. The initial

You can get rid of acne whiteheads by making use of the many creams and lotions available in the market. You may even choose to have them removed permanently through dermatology treatment. Using lotions constantly is not only bad for the skin due to the inherent chemicals, it is also not practical. Going to a dermatologist to have them removed can be an expensive affair. Hence, both methods are not practical and do not guarantee that you will not get an outbreak of acne or whiteheads in the near future. That is why it is necessary for you to understand the reasons for whitehead formation and look at a holistic prevention methodology rather than treatment.

As mentioned above, the whiteheads are caused due to the accretion of sebum, which is the body´s natural mechanism to keep the skin moist. When this accretion hardens, it transforms into the whiteheads or blackheads we do not like. It is therefore imperative to concentrate on the skin condition and take care of it such that this automatic mechanism of the skin does not get triggered off.

That can be done through the following:

a) Wash the face at least twice a day to keep the skin pores clean of grime.

b)Use soaps that are good for your type of skin. An oily skin requires a soap that is different to the one which can be used for dry skin. It is not necessary for the soap to have fragrance as such soaps often have fillers and other chemicals that may irritate your skin. Go for organic products.

c) Ensure that the skin does not get too dry by making use of good moisturizers. This again should be chosen suiting your skin type.

d) Ensure you keep the skin hydrated by drinking lot of water through the day especially if you are in a tropical climate. Even otherwise a minimum of eight glasses of water is essential.

e) Use toners that are available in the market and which help whitehead formation.

The above measures are preventive in nature. Despite these measures, if you happen to get whiteheads and wish to remove them by yourself through the use of a removal kit or natural acne products, then ensure you read the instructions carefully. Do not experiment if you are unsure.
