Time has Come for Real Change

America has a choice of following the same path that we have been on for the past 30 years or to really change. Our influence in the world has dropped by our pushy and all demanding conservative government. Our unwillingness to see the world as it is and forcing compliance to what we see as the world should be. Globalization creates the turmoil that we witness daily.
President Bush has continued to prove that America is out of touch not only with those outside of our borders but also within. We are being destroyed by our own government's willingness to think corporate and not humanitarian. The way our media is used to sway thought and disregard truth reminds some of the propaganda machines of the past.
The American middle class has been sacrificed for globalization that creates a one world society of those that have and those that are forced to work for little to nothing. Enemies are not borne but are being created to satisfy a need. It is a time honored reality that governments will create enemies to sway public opinions to follow the path that they wish you to follow. This is done so that you don’t notice the real agenda of those in power.
Topics of concern are created every election year to keep us satisfied that those in power are fighting for our best interests. The question we need to ask ourselves is it not time, to tell our government what the topics really are? Is it not time to hold those in power accountable for the lies that cost us billions of dollars wasted, Destruction of the earth, The poisoning of our children and elderly? Was removing Saddam really worth 3,000 American deaths based on lies of connections to Al-Qaeda and weapons of mass destruction? And by the way what became of Osama bin Laden? Were we not told that he started this whole thing or topic of concern.
We need fresh ideas and new faces to lead us and stop this war on ourselves and get back to dealing with the truth. As I watched the funeral of President Ford I noticed one thing right off the bat. Donald Rumsfeld and V.P. Dick Cheney held power of position and ideas way back in the mid 70’s. Have we not noticed that it is 2007? We pretty much have had the same thought in government for 30 years. The same people are recycled and hold power and nothing good seems to come of it. If you want change you really must demand new leaders.
The next Presidential election of 2008 will be one of the most pivotal ever in American history. My fear is that those Americans that go to the poles will be influenced by lies and fear to just continue more of the same. I fear that Americans have become so attuned to being told what is right or wrong that they have allowed government to take the freedom of thought from them. Freedom of speech, movement and privacy have been lost already but why allow anyone to take your freedom of thought?
I urge you to seek the truth and to find a way to really make changes that will be beneficial to you. The immigration problem is not causing your problems as some want you to think. Drugs are not the problem it’s the way we handle them that is. Find the cause as to why millions of Americans want them. And building more jails and prisons does no good, Building more re-hab centers will. Gay marriage will not destroy our country or society, using valuable time and resources to fight this does. Trying to force others in the world to fall into our ideas of right and wrong gains nothing, Learning about them and working with them has better results. Ignoring the genocide in Africa shows the world that we really don’t care. Helping out would give us credibility that we lack.
Time has come for Americans to stand up and be heard again as we need to take control back instead of just being controlled. Regain a sense of caring about others and finding ways to really improve life instead of falling into the pattern of us against them. I am sure if you really look you will find that you maybe agreeing with them. That is those that could care less about you or your ideas and well being. Take the time to really look at things and just see where society has been driven. As the saying goes you get the government that you deserve and in our case that means we deserve to lose our freedoms once cherished and to allow others to lead us by manipulation of the truth. We believe the lies and ignore the truth.
