In celebration of National Nanny Recognition Week, September 19-25, 2010, The Academy for Coaching Parents International (ACPI) will be hosting a two-part national teleconference in conjunction with Nannypalooza 2010: Nannies Across America on Saturday, September 18 and Sunday, September 19.

"With the growing level of professionalism and desire for quality continuing education amongst nannies, The Academy for Coaching Parents International is pleased to offer educational programming at an affordable price to nannies who wish to improve their skills and be more effective on the job" says Dr. Goode, founder of ACPI.

Danielle Koprowski, Educator for Attachment Parenting International and ACPI Certified Coach for Parents and

Michelle LaRowe, 2004 International Nanny Association Nanny of the Year, parenting author and ACPI trainer will each teach a session of the two-part teleconference.

"Each 2-hour session will focus on information that professional child care providers can use in their work with children and families" says Dr. Goode. Ms. Koprowski will address the topic of positive discipline and focus on how nannies can effectively deal with tantrums and intense emotions, how they can teach children respect, how they can meet children's needs, and how they can decode behavior and use positive discipline effectively. Ms. LaRowe will teach attendees how they can use basic parent coaching tools to better communicate with parents, reduce frustration and become more effective on the job.

"For nannies, National Nanny Recognition Week (NNRW) is a time to celebrate the wonderful work nannies do and the difference they make in the lives of the children in their care and the families whom they serve. One way nannies can celebrate NNRW is by getting together with other nannies for fun and learning" says LaRowe.

While Nannypalooza has traditionally been a two day conference held on the East Coast, this year the event has gone national and nanny support groups and placement agencies across the country are holding their own local events. "For nannies who don´t have access to a local nanny support system or continuing education network, ACPI is offering something special for them" says Dr. Goode.
