OK - So You're Successful - NOW What?

Sylvia MacKenzie
Well, well, well. There you are. All set up with the material things that others envy. Four-car garage, indoor-outdoor pool, timeshares in Belize and the French Riviera, perhaps your own yacht and plane. Impressive home, exquisitely decorated to suit your lifestyle. You seem to have easy pickens in the financial world. YOU have achieved SUCCESS in every sense of the word.

Or have you?

What is that niggle that won't go away? You have all the security and safety nets deployed. You "have it made" - at least to the outside world. So, what's missing?

A longing maybe for a deeper meaning in life?

Once the achievement of a major goal is reached, there is usually a time of retrospection. You can congratulate yourself on what it took to get there. You can revel in your victory over adversity or competition - or, just victory due to hard, gruelling effort. It is about then that the questions begin.

Where to from here? What do I do now? I have it all. I shouldn't feel lacking - or empty. But, what if you do feel that way? Then you are starting an exciting and unique adventure into your inner self. You desire more. You are basically searching your Soul for answers.

You likely crave even greater fulfillment. You are NOT alone! This need to do more, to be more, to have more is shared by others - just like you - who already appear to have it all. It is Natural Law claiming its power at this time. We are all puppets to this force.

True success is not supported by possessions or power over others, but by strong invisible cords that connect us to something greater than ourselves.

This natural or Universal Law demands things of you. If you fall short, IT will remind you! In your day-dreams, in your sleepless nights, as you drive your car . . . in whatever it is that occupies your mind, it will pop up. The message demanding attention is always the same: "Who am I? What is my purpose? Why am I not happy?"

If you are among those who have attained the pinnacle of success as you set out to do, and feel a slight or not-so-slight complacency with that objective now that it is yours, this message is for you.

There are several things that could be affecting you. It could feel like a sense of grief - that the goal is now over - dead. It could feel like you have gone as high as you can - and there's no higher place to go.

You could be one who chooses to maintain the status-quo in your career while willingly, knowingly, pushing family relationships aside. You could in fact, be dodging all personal relationships to desperately hang on to that perceived success in the outer world.

No matter how great your achievements are, if their is a personal cost to those closest to you, you are not experiencing real success - only something more akin to workaholism.

If you do not have a harmonious balance in your life, it is almost certain that something physical will manifest to get your attention. Divorce. Illness. Accident. That's the way the Universe seems to work.

Success is grand. It is actually your birthright and mine. But, you must be clear about what success really means to you. When and if you claim it, abundance is yours, prosperity is yours, and happiness and fulfillment are yours.

What is your definition of success? Does it include gratitude and humility, as well as a pride of accomplishment? Does it provide a deep sense of fulfillment? Does it help others achieve their highest good?

It is sadly true that Lamborghinis in the garage, and Rembrandts on the walls, do not happiness make. Though both types of possessions are truly valuable, and are meant for enjoyment and appreciation, if the owner becomes complacent about such things, this is a strong clue that something internal is not at ease. The Self must shine for the possessions to resonate their true beauty! And strangely enough, that requires detachment from the objects themselves. Reach for the magnificence in yourself first.

True success and the abundance it brings should guide one to humility and gratitude. There you will find your greatness. Once you realize your magnificence and purpose in life, your appreciation of success will change.

When you define what success really means to you - you will fill any emptiness within - and release bounty wherever it is needed. It is now freely transferred to an energy source that resonates with you alone - and, transposes your thoughts and emotions into a greater purpose than you could possibly devise on your own. And this is just simple science. Your thoughts are things. They emit energy impulses - positive or negative - it is your choice how you allow your mind to generate these energies.

Material success is neither good nor bad. It is what you do with it that enlivens your being, or deadens it.

You deserve happiness and fulfillment in your achievements, and the rewards of self-satisfaction and prosperity. Life is meant to teach us valuable lessons, but life is also best lived as an example to motivate and inspire others. Use your blessings as a beacon for others to follow.

"To whom much is given, much is expected." (Rose Kennedy, mother of John F. Kennedy, former President of the United States of America).
