Rep. Tom Allen Nominates 26 Maine students to the Nation’s Service Academies

Washington, D.C.--U.S. Representative Tom Allen today announced that he has nominated 26 outstanding young Maine men and women for appointment to the Class of 2011 at the Army, Navy, Air Force and Merchant Marine academies.
It is a great honor for me to recommend such a talented and bright group of young people for appointment to our nation’s service academies,” said Rep. Allen. “They honor their families and the people of Maine through their commitment to serve their country in a time of war.”
Representative Allen’s service academy nominees are:
U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York
Nicholas Adolphsen, who graduated from high school in 2004, is the son of Beth and Mark Adolphsen of Appleton.
Marc Beaudoin, a senior at Cheverus High School, is the son of Mary and Michael Beaudoin of Chelsea.
Adam Edgerton, a senior at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, is the son of Katherine Edgerton of Harrison.
William Guinther, a senior at Georges Valley High School, is the son of Kim and Stuart Guinther of Thomaston.
Morghan McAleney, a senior at Catherine McAuley High School, is the daughter of Jeanie and Edward McAleney of Cape Elizabeth.
Garrett O’Malley, a senior at Marshwood High School, is the son of Kathy and Tom O’Malley of Eliot.
Bruce Richards, a senior at Cheverus High School, is the son of Nancy and Bruce Richards of Falmouth.
U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Colorado
Rebecca Branyen, a senior at Noble High School, is the daughter of Susan and Gary Branyen of Berwick.
Maximilian Clukey is the son of Lorraine and Harleigh Clukey, Jr. of Portland and is home-schooled.
Travis Griffin, a senior at Scarborough High School, is the son of Julie and Jay Griffin of Scarborough.
Steven Pike, a 2006 graduate of Falmouth High School, is the son of Wanda and Bruce Pike of Falmouth. Steven received a Falcon Foundation Scholarship from the Air Force Academy and is attending Northwestern Preparatory School in California.
Zachary Jackman, a senior at Marshwood High School, is the son of Kimberly and Jonathan West of South Berwick.
Stephen Webber, a senior at Traip Academy, is the son of Linda and Stephen Webber of Kittery.
U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland
Adrian Amy, a senior at South Portland High School, is the son of Dana Gay Rollins and John Francis McQuinn of South Portland.
Alex Emery, a 2006 graduate of Westbrook High School, is the son of Stephanie and Lewis Emery of Westbrook. Alex received a Falcon Foundation Scholarship from the U.S. Naval Academy and is attending Northwestern Preparatory School in California.
Mary Katherine Donnell, a 2006 graduate of Sacopee Valley High School, is the daughter of Susan and Kenneth Donnell of Cornish. Mary Kate is attending the Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS) in Newport, Rhode Island.
Sarah Gardner, a senior at Sanford High School, is the daughter of Charlotte and Neil Gardner of Sanford.
Colin R. Hurd, a senior at Gorham High School, is the son of Herbert Hurd of Buxton.
Katherine Lindbom, a senior at York High School, is the daughter of Nancy and Peter Lindbom of Cape Neddick.
Zachary Logan, a senior at Cony High School, is the son of Audrey and Charles Logan of Chelsea.
Andrew Shellgren, a senior at Yarmouth High School, is the son of Jan and Jeff Morrison of Yarmouth.
Bradi True, a senior at Catherine McAuley High School, is the daughter of Diane and Darin Aldrich of Windham.
Jared Webber, a senior at Phillips Exeter Academy, is the son of Julianne and David Webber of York.

Joseph McDonnell, a senior at Kennebunk High School, is the son of Loretta and Kevin McDonnell of Kennebunk.
