"While many of us are struggling, the First Lady is spending the next few days in a five-star hotel on the chic Costa del Sol in southern Spain with 40 of her 'closest friends.' According to CNN, the group is expected to occupy 60 to 70 rooms, more than a third of the lodgings at the 160-room resort. Not exactly what one would call cutting back in troubled times.
Reports are calling the lodgings of Obama's Spanish fiesta, the Hotel Villa Padierna in Marbella, 'luxurious,' 'posh' and "a millionaires' playground."

I don't expect the Obamas to dine on Top Ramen and mac and cheese to express solidarity with the millions of Americans who are struggling to make ends meet. But by the same token I don't expect the Obamas to rub their wealth and celebrity in our faces.
Every politician worth his salt realizes that perception is reality. The Obamas are skilled politicians, but they must be so drunk with power they simply no longer care what the "little people" think about them.
Michelle Obama imagines herself this generation's Jackie Kennedy (what a joke), and an Obama vacation resembles an episode of "The Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous."
While Michelle and her homegirls are dining on caviar and staying in a 5-star hotel in Spain, millions of Americans are wondering why they voted for Barack Obama.
Michelle may be paying for the hotel rooms and the gourmet dinners, but the taxpayers are stuck with the bills for the Secret Service protection and the use of Air Force 2.
