Michael Richards To Apologize To Black Hecklers

Robert Paul Reyes
Michael Richards apology tour has lasted longer than a marathon Rolling Stones tour. The volatile comic has apologized on David Letterman's show, Jesse Jackson's radio program and Al Sharpton's radio broadcast.

Finally the Seinfeld co-star will personally apologize to the black hecklers he offended in his racist outburst at a recent nightclub performance.

The only thing that Richards accomplished by apologizing in those other venues was to spike the ratings of the aforementioned talk show hosts.

He should have immediately, or soon after, apologized to the black hecklers and this whole sorry spectacle would have blown over a lot sooner.

But Richards is still not getting it entirely right; he has agreed to meet the hecklers along with their lawyer and a retired judge who will serve as a mediator in recommending any further action.

Richards is walking into a legal ambush; he is an idiot for agreeing to this arrangement. He should go to that meeting with his own lawyer and his own retired judge who will determine what compensation he deserves from the hecklers for rudely interrupting his comedy routine.

The hecklers' lawyer, the publicity-loving Gloria Allred, said the meeting will take place in January. I must repeat that Richards is an idiot, why not have the meeting as soon as possible, and end this thing once and for all?

Once Richards finally apologizes to the black hecklers, he should take a long vacation from the spotlight. We need some time to forgive and forget his racist outburst.
