Stock Market Investing - How Can Networking Help You Make More Money?

If you regularly invest in the stock market, you will know that it's quite a lonely and individual activity. The choice of what stock you should buy, and when you should buy and sell that stock ultimately rests with you, and you alone. So you never really get a chance to chat or interact with other investors (other than on forums). However you can combat this problem by attending various events and networking with other people.
Typical events you can attend include company presentations, industry presentations (for instance a meeting presented by speakers from various mining or construction companies), money shows/expos, trading seminars and investor training days. You could even arrange your own meeting with traders and investors in your local area.
The point is that one of the best ways to learn how to become a more profitable stock market trader and investor yourself is to chat with other like-minded people, particular those that are more successful than you are. If you go through life trading the markets from your bedroom or home office and never pick up ideas from people more successful than yourself, then you may never reach your full potential.
I myself have not only read books from the likes of Benjamin Graham, Warren Buffett and Robbie Burns (one of the most successful investors in the UK), but I've also attended lots of seminars and trade shows over the years. This has been hugely beneficial to me because it's enabled me to pick up lots of useful tips and profitable trading strategies from some very talented traders and investors. It's also given me the opportunity to meet people that I have only previously chatted to on forums, so this is another major benefit.
Another reason why networking is potentially very profitable is because it allows you to find out a lot more information about individual companies that you may never have otherwise invested in. For example if you attend company or industry-specific presentations then you will get to chat to company bosses and CEOs and find out the real story behind certain companies. They are not allowed to give you any insider information of course, but you would be amazed how much information you can get out of them just by talking to them for a few minutes.
So the point I want to get across in this article is that networking really can be invaluable because you can gain tips and insights from other successful traders and investors, and you can also talk directly with the leading figures of various companies, enabling you to find some potentially very profitable investment opportunities.
