Gentle readers of this American Chronicle, in case you've not heard, a few days before the distracting 4th., of July celebrations, the Senate Republicans blocked a vote that would have given a Federal Government commission the legal power to lnvestigate and lay charges against British Petrolium. By one Senatorial vote, the Republicans managed to protect B.P. and possibly themselves, from being investigated. How is that possible?
It is time gentle people, to remember that particular fact when next you go to the voting booth. It is time to think about voting for Progressive Democrats who do not take money from special interests. Politicians who will work for basic human rights and for a cleaner environment. For any honest politician who rides a Bicycle to work, either Republican or Democrat. For any honest politician who walks or takes an electric Train to work, again either Republican or Democrat. For any politician who will buy an Electric Car or for any progressive politician who is educated enough to understand how dangerous global warming truly is, and who will not be bought or sold by Oily special interests.

We cannot let the denial of protective gear that hurt so many 9/11 clean-up workers happen again with the Gulf clean-up workers.
President Obama and the federal government must demand that BP allow every clean-up worker who wants to wear respiratory protective equipment to do so -- and ensure that workers get the equipment and training they need to do their jobs safely.
