The British are Coming! The British are Coming! Sound the Liberty Bell...Again!

Gentle readers of this American Chronicle, is your federal government run by the British Petrolium Oil corporation, and its affiliated investors; because during the Bush and Cheney Decade, it certainly looked that way?! Today, the Oil corporations continue to manipulate certain Republican Senators within your Federal government. The question is who did you vote for: British Petrolium or Barack Obama? What are you going to do about it? And here's one more question...how about that Gas Bubble forming above the leaking Well Head? http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/872.html...>

Joseph --

When BP CEO Tony Hayward testified before Congress this morning, many expected to hear him apologize for the disaster his company has caused. Instead, GOP Congressman Joe Barton was the one saying he was sorry -- to BP.

In his opening statement, Barton, the top Republican on the committee overseeing the oil spill and its aftermath, delivered a personal apology to the oil giant. He said the $20 billion fund that President Obama directed BP to establish to provide relief to the victims of the oil disaster was a "tragedy in the first proportion."

Other Republicans are echoing his call. Sen. John Cornyn said he "shares" Barton's concern. Rep. Michele Bachmann said that BP shouldn't agree to be "fleeced." Rush Limbaugh called it a "bailout." The Republican Study Committee, with its 114 members in the House, called it a "shakedown."

Let's be clear. This fund is a major victory for the people of the Gulf. It's a key step toward making them whole again. BP has a responsibility to those whose lives and livelihoods have been devastated by the disaster. And BP oil executives don't deserve an apology -- the people of the Gulf do.

Stand with us to show that the American people support holding BP accountable -- and we won't apologize for doing so.

Rep. Barton and Republicans like him don't understand that the real tragedy is what's happening to the people in the Gulf Coast. They're the ones who deserve his apology -- not BP.

But big oil knows exactly who its allies are. And if Republicans win control of the House, Rep. Barton could be chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee -- overseeing regulation of the oil and gas industry.

Notably, companies like Halliburton -- the folks responsible for cementing the Deepwater Horizon rig -- are directing their political committees to deliver thousands of dollars to GOP candidates this cycle. Barton himself has received more than $100,000 from the oil and gas industry this election cycle.

Barton should apologize to the people of the Gulf and he should step down as the highest-ranking Republican on the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

Adding your name to our open letter is one of the best ways you can show him and other Republicans that they weren't elected to defend big oil.

> And here's a message from John Kerry...>

Hello Joseph,

I just walked out of a meeting of the Democratic caucus in the Senate about comprehensive energy and climate legislation, and our Leader, Harry Reid, was more determined than ever to push ahead and make this the year we break our dependence on oil. He wants to make July the month we declare our energy independence.

But while we were meeting, here's what else was happening:

Texas Rep. Joe Barton - at a hearing covered nation-wide on live television - was saying that Congress and President Obama should appologize for securing $20 billion dollars in a trust fund to help the people of the Gulf. He called it a "shakedown." A shakedown!

Oh, and at the same time, a big conservative think-tank was holding a catered lunch on Capitol Hill to twist and distort the science and convince people nothing needs to be done because climate change is just some progressive conspiracy.

This is what we're up against. This is the status quo that President Obama said is indefensible.

We have to push back if we're going to change America's energy future, but we can't do it without you.

Please contribute to help us spread the truth.

It's not enough that we know the truth; we can't just preach to the choir here. We need to make sure that we reach everyone looking for the facts. So we'll take your contribution and use it to buy ads on search engines like Google, so when someone searches for the facts, we'll have a link to the real story on TruthFightsBack right there.

And the great part is, your contribution makes a direct impact. Instead of contributing to a pool where we spend millions on television ads, your $50, $75, or $100 can be directly responsible for hundreds of thousands of Americans seeing the truth. You can literally sponsor the truth. The more you can give, the more people see the truth.

The next two months will be crucial - we're going to have millions of people really tuning into this debate for the first time. The big interests trying to block reform are ready with big PR campaigns to mislead and distort, so we're going to have to push as hard as we can.

If we fight back with the truth, we win every time. So please give $50, $75, or even $100 to support TruthFightsBack and help us get real energy reform to tackle climate change.

It's crunch time, so let's make sure we push every way we can to make this happen.

Thanks,

John Kerry

About Joseph Raglione
Hi! I am the executive director of the World Humanitarian Peace and Ecology Movement. I began as an environmental activist in 1969 and basically, never stopped! I Graduated College in Social Science and registered as a non-profit corporation in 1988 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I am one of a very few non-profit and generic freedom loving journalists left on Earth, and I continue today to study and to understand the problems connected with human activity on this Planet. My affiliates include: GreenPeace, the Nature Conservancy, the Bio-diversity organization, the Sierra Club, the David Suzuky foundation, the WWF, Amnesty International, World Vision, the IUF organization; as well as the wonderful and independant N.A.S.A. scientists studying our Planet's weather systems. Of course NASA also studies the mysteries of the Eternal Universe with satelite generated images and, over the years, have generously allowed me and thousands of our world scientists to study over their shoulder's via the Internet.
In spite of some past U.S. government repression, NASA continues to provide solid evidence of global warming.
NASA has provided me with pictorial evidence of Rainforest deforestation within: Jakarta, Peru, Africa, Brazil and even in Western Canada!
The motivation for such destruction continues to be (often illegally) for: lumber, for bio-fuels, and for Cattle ranching. Today, the perceived future profits for Palm Oil and for Bio-Fuels are prime motivators for environmental destruction. Small crop farming also contributes but that may be changing as farmers learn to protect the Rain-Forest.
With NASA imaging, there is proof that large city heat traps are helping global warming, and with (infrared images)there is proof that several hundred million gas burning vehicles (including ship and airplanes) presently create a hugh quantity of pollution tracks across both Oceans and Sky.
With oil, gas, Coal and Bio-Fuel heated buildings around the world creating C02 emissions, and with Methane release from all animal species...giant Ozone holes have been created and continue to exist above the North and South Poles. Ozone holes allow the Sun to radiate the Ice Caps and to accelerate the Ice melt, which releases more Methane into the atmosphere, which continues to thin out the Ozone. A vicious circle created by human need and also, unhappily, by human greed!
I have been asked to write to the Prime Minister of Japan to ask him to stop the murderous assault on endangered Whales. Every year, thousands of Whales are killed in the Antarctic with GreenPeace volunteers placing themselves between the Whales and the grenade tipped harpoons, and peope like myself, (I did not forget this is my "Bio," putting my old neck on the line attempting to change the situation by writing thousands if not millions of words!
Are words dangerous?
Over three hundred journalists were killed within the last ten years. You tell me if words are dangerous!
As I write these words, the desperate and starving in Darfur are waiting for rescue. I motivated a few kind hearted California Actors to visit the region and to report back. They did! They then created the Darfur coalition and they continue to fight to save the innocent victims trapped in tents in the desert of the Sudan. Darfuri's were attacked and moved from their homes because somebody believes there is Oil under the Sudan desert.
As I write this, a few sick and desperate people in Iraq are wrapping bombs around themselves in order to die in the name of God, and the list of humanitarian disasters continues. I also contribute information to the Reuter's news service. It is time for a change. Please help make it happen!
