Obesity, Is There A Quick Fix To The Problem?

Judy Ramsook
Those afflicted with slow metabolisms, family history of obesity and not so good eating habits must become frustrated every time they learn the many diseases and ailments that can stem from being obese.

All of a sudden it seems people who think they are obese are in a great rush to become thin. They try anything they think might work.

From exercising to dieting. And those who are willing to go a step farther try things such as liposuction and those who can afford this luxury, even hire a personal trainer to help them lose most of that weight.

Also if one pays close attention to some newscasts, it seems even the news anchors are in a hurry to have people lose weight, fast. This can be indicative in their tone when conveying some news bit about obesity.

The problem is so widespread that sodas and foods that contain a high fat content are being removed from the public school cafeterias. This is all an attempt at keeping the kids on a healthy diet. It is evident that everywhere one turns, it seems people are looking for a quick fix to the obesity problem.

And people have tried things that have worked, like diets and so on, but how many people are willing to stick to a diet of bland food for a prolonged period? The ones who are serious about losing weight. There might not be a quick fix for everyone.

For this obesity problem did not start overnight. It’s the result of years of family history with obesity, and consuming too much fast food, because as the world and the world economy changed so did people’s lifestyles.

When the male breadwinner of most homes could no longer carry the burden of managing household expenses on his own, he needed his spouse to help him. Of course in order to do that, she the wife, had to find a job and that sometimes meant that dinner on the table did not always arrive in a home cooked fashion.

Sometimes when people are too tired at the end of a work day, instead of going home to cook a meal, it’s easier to stop at the local fast food place and pick up something.

And after consuming at least one meal a day of such food for an extended period of time, the pounds can indeed pile up.

Nowadays, people can’t seem to have enough ways to shed some of those pounds, but like everything else, those persons want quick results.

When those results don’t come fast as one would like them to, those individuals afflicted with the obesity problem might become a little discouraged when they see their efforts on a fast track to becoming thin are not working as quickly as they expected.

So there might not be a quick fix to some obesity problems, for those problems did not happen as fast as the solution came.

I am certain though, that if some people could go back in time and change their family obesity history or slow metabolism, they would. Unfortunately, all we can do is is what we can now to slow down the problem, for that quick fix some people are seeking might work for some but not for everyone.

There is a price or sacrifice for everything. If one has liposuction, he/she has to stick to a strict diet, plus work out twice a day. If one wants to exercise, he/she has to set aside time for that.

If some one wants to cut out all the high fat content food, he/she will be giving up the tasty for the bland. Even if the quick fix comes in a pill, that too might be expensive, something only the wealthy can afford. But I wish you well with whatever weight loss plan you are on. If it’s working, quick fix or not, don’t give it up.
