X-Affirmative Action
If there’s to be affirmative action it needs to start at the lowest grades and go through grade 12. It needs to involve the parents of failing students not give special privilege to those who have already shown some degree of accomplishment. There is nothing affirmative about pampering the already privileged.
There’s a tendency to demand less from some minority students than white middle class students, this does nothing to advance education or diversity. It certainly doesn’t prepare minorities to compete in the work place. Lowering academic standards doesn’t improve a student’s chance in their future career.
California and Washington have already passed laws adjusting the parameters of affirmative action and as far as we know the wheels haven’t fallen off education in either state.
In the past 40 years billions of tax payers dollars and thousands of man hours have been contributed to the African American community to advance there living standard. They were given everything they needed to clime the ladder of success. The majority made it into middle class America and has become an intricate part of the community in fact they’ve blended so well they’re no longer noticeable, “They are us.”
There are a few who refuse to take advantage of the many opportunities available to them. They become the pray for the 21st century Slave Masters [aka] Preachers, Politicians and Social Workers who milk them like one milks a Wisconsin Dairy Cow.
When I was an employer I was required to treat every applicant as if they were the same color, same age, same gender, same religion, etc. Yet when the government compiled their statistical data they required all these questions and more be answered. It’s always bothered me where the government was concerned the African American community could get away with so much and the White community was held to a higher standard, wouldn’t that be discriminating in both communities?
The only apology White America owes to Black America is allowing politicians to continue a forced servitude though what the New Slave Masters called entitlements. Had our black brothers and sisters been required to perform for those entitlements they would have learned welfare isn’t free it cost them their families, their opportunity for life in the suburbs. In many cases their dignity.
There’s still a need for some assistance in the poorer areas of the African American community but the time’s come to demand some performance for the assistance, it should no longer be an entitlement to sit at home and collect benefits. Affirmative Action is one of those benefits whose time has passed. There comes a time when the rewards require an effort. We’ve given enough without asking for any accountability.
If I’m deemed a racist for my views so be it, I plead guilty.
