The independent experts advising on vaccine policies are about as independent as links in a chain.

Conflicts of interest run high in the field of vaccines and it is becoming increasingly obvious that the very experts asked to give advice on vaccines are sleeping with the drugs companies that manufacturer them, leaving the USA public with the huge dilemma of who exactly to trust.

Lets first examine The American Academy of Paediatrics.

CBS News have discovered that the Academy of Paediatrics receive millions of dollars from the vaccine industry for conferences, grants, medical classes, they have even helped them to build their headquarters.

Although the full figures of exactly how much they have been given has never been revealed, CBS News report that the following is known for certainty-

"A $342,000 payment from Wyeth, maker of the pneumococcal vaccine - which makes $2 billion a year in sales.

A $433,000 contribution from Merck, the same year the academy endorsed Merck's HPV vaccine - which made $1.5 billion a year in sales.

Another top donor: Sanofi Aventis, maker of 17 vaccines and a new five-in-one combo shot just added to the childhood vaccine schedule last month."

Shocked? Well you should be. These are people that the American people trust to give them advice on vaccines.

So just who are the Academy of Paediatrics? The AAP are a body of experts who promote the physical, mental and social health of infants, children, adolescents and young adults.

This what their site AAP says about vaccination-

"The AAP believes that vaccines are one of the most successful medical advances of all time, but understands that parents may have questions about vaccines and their children. AAP is not able to provide information regarding individual children and their medical conditions, but the following resources are provided as background for a dialogue with your child's paediatrician.

The 2010 Recommended Childhood and Adolescent Immunization Schedules were approved by the American Academy of Paediatrics, the Advisory Committee on Immunizations Practices of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the American Academy of Family Physicians and are now available below."

So here we see professionals offering parents advice on immunizing their children, which is paid for by the drugs companies who provide the vaccines. So just who do the USA citizens trust? Well certainly not Paul Offit because the CBS News found him also, sleeping with the enemy.

Paul Offit, is perhaps the most widely-quoted defender of vaccine safety.

He's gone so far as to say babies can tolerate "10,000 vaccines at once."

The CBS News say-

This is how Offit described himself in a previous interview:

"I'm the chief of infectious disease at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and a professor of pediatrics at Penn's medical school," he said."

"Offit holds in a $1.5 million dollar research chair at Children's Hospital, funded by Merck. He holds the patent on an anti-diarrhea vaccine he developed with Merck, Rotateq, which has prevented thousands of hospitalizations.

And future royalties for the vaccine were just sold for $182 million cash. Dr. Offit's share of vaccine profits? Unknown."

So again we ask the question just where else could American parents go for advice that they can trust?

Well they could try the Every Child By Two. This is a group that promotes early immunization for all children. Their website says:-

"Taking your new baby to see the pediatrician can be one of the most rewarding experiences as a new parent. It is a time when you can show off how your beautiful new baby is thriving due to your care and nurturing.

During each office visit the doctor and nurse will examine your baby to determine if he or she is developing properly. They will give you advice on how to feed and care for your baby and how to keep your baby safe.

Immunizations are a routine part of your baby´s office visits and will be given to your baby every two months or so until they are fully vaccinated. You and your family should also receive an annual influenza vaccine.

It is so important to immunize your child on time, every time. Vaccines have saved millions of lives over the years and prevented hundreds of millions of cases of diseases. Because diseases still exist in this country and can be imported from foreign countries, unimmunized people are at great risk of getting sick. Babies are most vulnerable to diseases because their immune systems are not yet fully developed. Therefore babies begin to receive vaccines at the earliest opportunity so that they will not become ill, or worse, die from vaccine-preventable diseases.

These visits are also the time to have your questions answered as your baby reaches each developmental stage. You should feel comfortable asking your provider or nurse any questions you may have. Preparing a list of questions is helpful so that no matter how cooperative your baby is feeling at the time, you won´t forget to have your important questions answered."

Surely with their wealth of knowledge the ECBT can be trusted? Sorry to disappoint you but no, not even this outfit can be trusted to give truly independent advise because according to CBS NEWS they to, have ties with vaccine manufacturers.

CBS News say-

"A spokesman told CBS News: "There are simply no conflicts to be unearthed." But guess who's listed as the group's treasurers? Officials from Wyeth and a paid advisor to big pharmaceutical clients."

The USA are not alone the UK have the same predicament.

The JVCI who were given control over the vaccine policies in the UK also have strong ties and affiliations with the drug industry.

In an article written by Child Health Safety website called UK Government Hands Drug Industry Control of Childhood Vaccination they write-

"Giving the JCVI control over vaccination policy appears little different to giving control directly to the drug industry because of a closely similar approach and in some cases interests of one too many JCVI members. The JCVI is drawn from the British Medical professions and includes members with drug industry financial conflicts of interest [Declarations of Interests] and an historically poor record to the present day on vaccination and child health safety [revealed in Freedom of Information documentation"

Mind you the JVCI have had what many might call conflicts of interest since the word go. They never have been the most honest bunch. In my article The Lies government Tell When It Comes To Vaccines I mention a letter that was written by Prof Gordon T Stewart was written to Mr P Allen the Secretary of the Committee on Safety of Vaccines on the 13th February 1980. I write:-

"The letter begins by pointing out that it is very important that all information should be made available to the public about a vaccine. Prof Stewart writes about information regarding the whooping cough vaccine."

"In reply to yours of 11th February, I am sorry to say that I do not agree with you that there is nothing more that can or should be done; Let me say again that the important matter confronting us is the safety of the vaccine. It is not in the public interest to withhold additional information relating to the safety of a vaccine, which has come to our attention as a result of a collaborative programme and which is highly germane to our report."

The letter continued a little later to say-

"The situation changed when Dr Pollock, saw fit to assure the public on more than one occasion that the vaccine was ´perfectly safe´, that fears which had been expressed were groundless and that parents and doctors could therefore use it without fear. The reassuring statements issued by Sir Charles Stuart-Harris and Professors Dudgeon and Miller were in the same vein, although the NCES to which they refer is nowhere near completion"

Then the letter says (and this is worst part)-

"This was so much at variance with what, by that time, our Committee knew to be the case that a caution if not a corrective statement was certainly called for. The lack of a corrective statement amounts to a repetition of the same dismal history which caused the problem in the first place and led to the Ombudsman to blame your department in no uncertain terms."

I might mention that Sir Charles Stuart-Harris and Professors Dudgeon and Miller were on the the Joint Committee of Vaccination and Immunization at the time.

The vaccine industry, it appears, is ruled by the drug companies and the professionals who we are encouraged to trust. Some might go as far as to call this drug dealing as money does exchange hands. Perhaps but whatever the truth is, I would say that if the above is to be believed, then, conflicts of interests do appear to pay a large part in the immunization push we see today.
