The Art Of Choosing Spy Cams.

Michael Russell
Security and or spy cams are a great way to enhance the safety and security of our loved ones, homes or businesses. These devices enable us to deter any wrong doing whilst not having to be there in person.

It could be that you need a meeting covertly recorded, or to catch a baby sitter that has been abusing your child in one way or another, a spouse that has been less than faithful, or a staff member dipping into the coffers. The most discreet spy cam will do the job for you.

Spy cams come in many shapes, sizes and forms. There is surveillance apparatus that cover your whole property and remote surveillance is even possible. These activities can be recorded so that the films are available for later use.

Find a reputable company when going the route of spy equipment. Whatever your need is, be it a large camera or a tiny inconspicuous one, there is something available for you. Ensure that you have satisfied all the following points and criteria when selecting surveillance equipment.

1) What range does the transmission cover? This is the distance that will still reveal images clearly. Typically, this distance is anything between three hundred to two thousand feet.

2) Transmission frequency. The camera at a certain frequency transmits the video feed. This could be 900mzh, 1.2ghz, 2.4ghz, or 434mzh. Due to interference, 2.4ghz or the 1.2ghz options are the better choice.

3) Does the receiver come with the package? For those that come without a receiver, you will have to obtain one separately and prices could come into play.

4) How is the quality? Quality of image is very important. The higher the lines of resolution, the better the quality will be. In the surveillance, industry the accepted norm is 380 lines or more of resolution.

5) Does the camera have low light sensibility? The camera must be able to operate in low light conditions. The measurement for this is LUX. The lower this reading the more your camera will be able to film in low light conditions. For average low light conditions, 0.05 is low enough; if you are filming in total darkness then the LUX reading should be 0.03.

6) Which is better? Color or black and white? Color cameras will far better make a distinction regarding items, however black and white are usually cheaper and give a higher resolution image.

The above will better equip you in making the decision as to which spy cams to go with for the job you have at hand.
