The Legality Of Torture A "No-Brainer" For Dick Cheney

The devil sometimes appears as an “angel of light”, but in the persona of Dick Cheney, he wears a perpetual snarl. To grasp the incredible evil nature of our vice president please read: “The Evil Dick Cheney” by Jackson Thoreau at:

Cheney is an ardent supporter of torture, regardless of the harm his stance on this issue has on our international relations.

In an interview with Scott Hennen, a conservative radio talk show host, Cheney has confirmed that CIA interrogators subjected captured senior al-Qaida suspects to a controversial interrogation technique called waterboarding, which creates a sensation of drowning.

The Bush administration outsources torture; it has dispatched individuals suspected of terrorism to foreign countries where they are subjected to extreme kinds of torture.

Cheney indicated the Bush administration doesn’t regard waterboarding as torture and allows the CIA to use the technique to extract information from prisoners. “It’s a no-brainer for me,” Cheney said.

If one of al Qaeda’s terrorists dunked Cheney in water, I wonder if he would still opine that waterboarding is not torture. The man with no heart is correct, it is a "no-brainer." Only an individual with no brain and no conscience would condone the use of waterboarding.

President George W. Bush is operating on the notion that he has the constitutional power to do anything he deems necessary to fight Islamic terrorism. If that means adopting the cruel methods of the jihadists – so be it. We have met the terrorists and they are us.

There is no consensus in the Republican party regarding the use of waterboarding, many top-level Republican lawmakers are vehemently opposed to this inhumane practice under any circumstances.

And waterboarding and other forms of torture do not even work, the wretched souls who are being tortured will say anything, whether it’s true or not, to stop the torment.

Under torture I would admit that George W. Bush is a wise and articulate leader, if that’s what I thought my tormenters wanted to hear.

It’s a rotten shame that we have to endure two more years of Bush/Cheney, but we should send a strong signal that we don’t condone torture by giving the Democrats control of Congress this November.
