It's just six months until the November elections and it seems that Democrats in Washington are finally finding their backbone and delivering on their promise of change. (Maybe the catastrophic Loisiana Oil slick had something to do with their attitude change? It sure had plenty to do with mine!..Joseph.)
Using reconciliation to pass healthcare without a single Republican vote, holding firm against Republican filibusters of new Wall Street regulations, and going on offense with immigration reform that will split the Republican Party in two -- it seems Democrats have finally decided they have a mandate to lead this country forward.
It's about time.
But you and I know we can't trust them to do it alone. We're the boots on the ground that continue to lead the way and I want you to join me and Governor Howard Dean at an Organizing Get Together on Tuesday, May 18, to find out your role in the 50 State Action Plan to get the job done.
HOST AN ORGANIZING GET TOGETHER IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD
Hosting an O.G.T. can be a lot of fun. All you need is a location like your own home or a local meeting room and a computer with access to the internet so you can join the conference call with me and Governor Dean. We'll provide the agenda, help you recruit other DFA members, and after you sign up to host, a DFA National Field Organizer will contact you directly to make sure you have everything you'll need to make it a fun, successful event.
And since May 18 is also Election Day for the Democratic primary in Arkansas and Pennsylvania, it's a great excuse to get together with your DFA friends and watch the results as the returns come in. We'll be getting live updates from DFA members on the ground throughout the conference call for two of the biggest primary challenges of the year: Blanche Lincoln vs. Bill Halter and Arlen Specter vs. Joe Sestak.

The 50 State Action Plan is about more than winning primaries now or elections in November. This is about the long-term strategy of building a movement with the power to win on progressive issues.
We'll expand our existing local groups. We'll build new issue-focused teams, unite our national community with local events, and train new leaders with regional summits. We'll place trained activists with jobs on campaigns, train campaign staff in the skills to win, and mobilize to elect progressive Democrats up and down the ballot.
The 50 State Action Plan is ambitious. It's our biggest investment in DFA's Field Program yet and I couldn't be more excited to be the National Field Director helping you lead the way to get the job done.
