Has Nancy Pelosi Put The Cart Before The Horse

Ken Hughes
Minority House of Representatives leader Nancy Poleis has been mentally redecorating the Speakers office in anticipation of her becoming the next Speaker of the House. That seems to be a bigger [if] as the election draws nearer. A Democratic take back of Congress becomes less of a certainty as the days dwindle down to the election.

Nancy Pelosi had some rather harsh words for the public when she thought Democrats had a lock on retaking the House. She and Charlie Rangel had it all worked out, they would raise taxes impeach George Bush with draw from Iraq there were other things to numerous to mention jointly they would be running the government. They didn’t leave much room in their plans for the other 433 members of the House and the 100 members of the Senate not to mention the President to play a part in the affaires of government.

Normally such bravado would attract the Medias attention at least if Nancy was a Republican her being a Democrat it goes unnoticed. Democrats have a lock on hypocrisy, Democrats outrageous behavior has become so commonplace it’s scarily noticed anymore and certainly not by the Media.

Several Democratic Congress persons have expressed distain for Pelosi’s over zealous ambitions. One un-named congress person said Nancy Pelosi’s arrogance in assuming she was locked into the Speakers position had turned many Democratic Congress persons off who wouldn’t be supporting her.

Some political annalists have suggested the Democrats assumption they would take over congress rather than letting the voters decide may have cost them some of their momentum. One thing is for sure a Democratic victory is less of an assurance today than it was last week.

Democrats have spent the past two years running against George Bush who isn’t running rather than concentrating on the election at hand, The voters made up their minds about George Bush two years ago. Short of impeachment then a Senatorial trial George Bush is president until 2009. Impeachment would get Dick Chaney Lord knows they don’t want that.

Democrats have concentrated their hatred of Bush and haven’t formulated a stratigy for the future. Their profound disapproval of Bush isn’t a qualification to run the strongest nation on earth. Democrats haven’t given the voters anything to take with them to the ballot box. On balance the nation’s economic positives outweigh the Democrats negatives. Voters vote their pocket books as a rule not the political rhetoric.

One thing’s for cretin it’s easier to pick a horse race than an election. Horses don’t lie about their records and their capabilities or the other Horses they just run and keep their mouths shut. God bless the Horses.
