In recent times, one invention that has truly brought about a revolution is the iPod brought out by Apple. They are one of the most highly demanded electronic devices, available in various colors and memory configurations. Launched in 2001, the iPods had a memory of five gigabytes, then considered more than enough. Its invention came as a result of the company feeling that all the other media players available in the market had cluttered and difficult to understand user interfaces. The first iPod was named classic, which had the capability to play audio and limited picture viewing capacity.
IPods were characterized by their light weight, uncluttered user interface, high capacity, and yes, superb sound quality. The range, as and how the market for such electronic gadgets grew and developed, was expanded to include versions with not just higher capacity, but also more functionality. Nowadays, the latest iPods come with almost twenty times the memory capacity the first version had, and can pay videos as well.
