Guide for a Digital MP3 Player

Lisa Mills
Mp3 players have now become a must have in everybody´s life. This is awesome device for a music lover since it can store a number of songs. Digital Mp3 players store songs in the very famous Mp3 format which lets you save as many songs you like since it requires rather less space than any other formats available. These players come in various types, sizes and shapes. Some are sporty looking, and some are classic in their design. Their portable nature lets you carry them from one place to another, which is facilitated with a higher battery life.

There was a time when larger players were used to listen to songs, which were also not portable. This is not the case now with these digital Mp3 players as they are very small in size and are therefore portable. The traditional players used tape recordings which were manually moved to catch an analog signal which was called wave form. These analog signals were amplified to hear the song on the speakers connected to the player. These wave signals are the now so called wav format used in the digital players. But there is a problem with these wav files. They take so much space that you first have to compress them in a shorter format such as Mp3 to store them in your player. For instance, a song in a wav format will take up about 50 MB whereas when this same song is compressed into Mp3 format, it becomes as small as 5 MB. Thus, you can yourself see the difference in a digital Mp3 player and the traditional analog players.

These players are equipped with soft wares which can be used to convert the other digital format to Mp3 format so that they can be easily heard on the player. Most popular among these digital Mp3 players are the Apple´s iPod. These are available in many versions ranging from the smallest iPod shuffle to the iPod Classic. These vary in their functionalities as well as the storage capacities with variety of colors ranging from white, black and even pink. The interface used by the players are easy to use and can be thus used by anyone who has a basic knowledge. The prices depend on these versions so you should always look for the player which suits your personality as well as your budget.
