For novice players, it is best that you play in a game with a Limit Texas Holdem Betting Structure. In limit games, there are predetermined caps or limits to the bets that can be posted in a certain part of a game. For example, the pre flop limit can be $2 and the post flop limit is $4. Raises also have caps so you can be assured that you can hold on to your chips longer in this kind of betting structure.

The spread limit betting structure is similar to a limits game. The only difference is that instead of a definite cap or limit, a range is used to mark the minimum and maximum bets that can be posted. For example, in $5-$10 spread limit game, the minimum amount of bet that can be posted is $5 and the maximum amount of bet that can be posted is $10.

There is also the pot limit betting structure where the caps or limits are based on the size of the pot. If you are a novice player, you better stay away from pot limit games because the limits or caps can become quite confusing.

Perhaps the most popular Texas Holdem Betting Structure is the No Limits game. In this game, there is no limit as to how much you can raise the pot. You are totally in command of the chips you plan to risk on the table.
