HELP THE STUDENTS! CONGRESS HAS LINKED PELL GRANTS TO HEALTH CARE PACKAGE.
Joseph --
Last week, Congress decided that student aid reform will be added to the health care reform reconciliation package.
This week, Congress is scheduled to vote on it.
If this bill fails, 500,000 students will lose their pell grants completely and everyone else will have theirs cut to only about $3,000 a year.
Failure would also leave over 10 million young adults without health insurance to cover the basics like prescription drugs and a yearly physical.
Click here to tell your representatives that we can't afford to let reform fail.
We've heard a lot of words tossed around to describe the point and potential of passing these reforms. Yet, as we hit the final stage, the only word that matters, the one that we must reiterate until this debate ends is this:
Help.
Fundamentally, that's what reform is all about. It's based on the acknowledgement that while government can't solve all of our problems, it should be able to help.
Make sure your representative gets your last word; tell them to support the reconciliation bill for young America. Go to:

P.S. President Obama is giving a speech on the importance of these reforms at George Mason University this Friday. If you're in the DC area, you can attend in person. Doors open at 9 am. If you can't make it, the White House is hosting a Facebook event at the same time. All the details for both are available online at: https://ssl1.americanprogress.org/o/507/p/salsa/event/common/public/?event_KEY=20588
