Texas holdem early position includes the three players that are seated to the left of the dealer. And as mentioned previously, the least preferred one in the game since the earlier your position is the bigger risk you´ll have when you call before the flop. The reason behind is that the odds of getting raised by the other players is really huge.

The most ideal position in Texas holdem poker card game is to be in late position. Players have the most advantage in this position due to the fact that they have already seen what their opponent´s actions were and can act accordingly. Late position poker players already have an idea about the other player´s starting hands and as a result can better decide what actions to make in relation to the previous playing moves.

Position is also important as a basis in betting decisions especially in higher stake games. The number of unwanted bets made will be greatly decreased particularly for worse hands if you are in the latter place. There are also times when playing a hand is determined by the number of callers on the table. When you are in an early position you will not have the advantage of knowing that fact compared to late position players.

As a final word we can say that it is better to be in late position rather than in early position in Texas holdem poker. However, it will be more important to know what are the advantages and the strategies of a later position in order for you to use the position better.
