Herbie Hancock
A child musical prodigy, Hancock´s illustrious career spans five decades. Referred to as the nation´s first-call jazz ambassador and true icon of modern music, he will share his eclectic musical style and unmistakable voice with thousands of appreciative fans as a part of his River of Possibilities Tour. On Hancock´s latest project, the CD River: the Joni Letters, the progressive pianist/composer´s aim was to dissect the lyrics of some of Joni Mitchell's most famous songs. Instead of the instruments accompanying the lyrics, Hancock and producer Larry Klein arranged the music to interpret the emotions of the lyrics, all while keeping intact the melodies Mitchell fans know and love. The album was hugely popular and garnered Hancock the 2008 Grammy Award for Album of the Year. Information: www.herbiehancock.com.
