Making a Comeback in the Recession

Mike Catherall
Just because youīre down, doesnīt mean youīre out.

Just look at the Canadian Menīs Hockey team.

Did they take one staggering loss to the United States and give up and go home? No. They suffered the embarrassment, and the shock to the self esteem that comes from losing to a blindsiding bit of luck, dusted themselves and persevered. They pushed on and after narrowly slipping by the Slovaks, they were ready to meet their great adversary again in the final round.

If they had given up, the whole country would be in sorrow.

Instead, they keep on fighting. They learned from their mistakes. They pushed at Kelly harder than before, and they brought the big guns out in the form of Sidney and Iginla at just the perfect time. It was a narrow victory, for certain, but a delicious and deserved victory, especially after that first, bitter loss.

The Americans couldnīt believe it. They sobbed while the bowed for silver. How had the Canadians done it? The answer was simple. They had reached deep into themselves and pulled out hope, like a live beating heart quivering in their proud hands.

Scrapes with bad luck affect us all. The recession hit a lot of Canadian homeowners in the same way. It knocked them down a peg or two and racked up their cards a digit or three as well. It took some swagger out of their step, and left them rubbing pennies instead of paper.

But like the menīs hockey team, there is still hope. And while that Olympic Team found it in itself to discover the spirit it needed to rise up and win, the average Canadian has that hope stored in their homes. For years they have been investing in them, and now, they can re-invest in themselves and their own big comeback, by reaching into their reserves as well.

When itīs time to dust yourself off, shake off the bad debts and take on life with a fresh start, the banks can't always help.

If you have bad credit, no credit, or even if you think you are too old, it doesnīt matter. If you have a home, you have everything you need to rebuild and come back stronger, just ask Alpine Credits, they specialize in Bad Credit Loans BC.

Sidney and the rest of the boys had what it took for a comeback. And you do too – right here in your home.
