The Treasure Hunt

Michael Levy
I remember a story I was told when I was knee high to a grasshopper...

A man is searching for a valuable coin he dropped in the street.

Another man is passing-by and asks; "can I help you."

"That is very kind of you, yes, please help me look for the coin I dropped."

"When did you drop it?"

"About four hours ago"

"Humm? Did you drop it in this exact location?"

"Well; No, I dropped it around the corner"

"So why are you looking for it here?"

"It is very dark around the corner and the street lights

are so much brighter in this part of the street!"

"Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught."

Oscar Wilde

How many times do we do things in our life because the bright, educated experts say that is the correct thing to do?

Doctors, lawyers, professors, financial advisers, politicians, religious leaders etc, etc, etc, could all be well meaning folks, who may give us intellectual advice they have studied at university. Indeed some of it may be good advice, but a great deal of it may not. In fact, it could dispatch us down a path of ruination and havoc.

"I have learnt silence from the talkative, toleration from the intolerant, and kindness from the unkind; yet strangely, I am ungrateful to these teachers."- Kahlil Gibran

Just because a person has educational qualifications does not mean they know how to live an authentic life on earth.

If doctors develop an illness and die from a disease, how can they prevent their patients from getting a disease? The best cure from illness is prevention of illness and that can only come from universal wisdom; Remember...Bad medical doctors bury their mistakes!

"It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure." - Albert Einstein

If financial advisers are not millionaires, how can they make their clients millionaires? If their only source of income is from taking money from people, by giving them advice on how to invest their hard earned money, how helpful can their advice be and why pay for it?

"Imagination is more important than knowledge." - Albert Einstein

If professors have not actually experienced, in their own lives, what they teach in their field of proficiency, how can they know if their teaching will help their student progress in the best way possible?

"As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain; as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality." - Albert Einstein

If religious leaders are not happy campers, how can they help their flocks to graze on cheerfulness and joy? What good is a religious philosophy if it does not bring health, wealth and happiness and continues to bring wars, death and destruction? If it abides by rules that make its followers beholden to a jealous, revengeful, judgmental God, who kills babies, and brings plagues, perhaps the religious leaders need to search for the truth in the location where spirit assigned it!..... Not where their man-made be-lie-f systems are illuminated, in the light ego/intellectual buildings of worship, that are filled with poppycock and tomfoolery (sorry to use your name in vain Tom and Poppy)

"The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources." - Albert Einstein

The list of professional, intellectual ignorance of true meaning goes on and on, just as human society goes on and on... Down a path they be-lie-ve is illuminating and educational....And; Indeed it is..... It is very bright and illuminating..........BUT; all the authentic information... That has truth and authenticity... lives around the dark (subconscious) corners of the mind and is very uncomfortable for the ego/intellect to seek in that valid location.

"Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence." - Albert Einstein

So the ego/intellect continues to work in light (conscious) places, where all educated folks can help in the search for the truth... Whilst the truth just smiles, laughs and relaxes, in the balanced, universal minds of centered, simple folks, who possess the visions of authentic living and do not need their eyes to see in the enlightening, metaphysical silence...... Once we locate the treasures of love & joy, humanity misplaced; we return to live in paradise.

"We are students of words: we are shut up in a schools and colleges and recitation-rooms for ten or fifteen years, and come out at last with a bag of wind, a memory of words, and do not know a thing." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

As Shakespeare once noted about society; "To do harm is often commendable, to do good is sometimes regarded as dangerous folly."
